I heard great recommendations from my vegan friends about the vegan menu here and I was so impressed! Melissa is the reason I am coming back! Right from the get go, I called in to place a pickup order and she was patient with me figuring my way around the streets and offering me recommendations over the phone I decided to just sit in and eat inside once I saw the location. Cute ambience in the streets with the street art on the walls and street decor. Inside the restaurant, you can appreciate the hand painted statements on the wall. You can tell it’s an eco friendly establishment since they have self serve to go boxes and cutlery. Melissa has the best personality and is a great first impression of customer service. She recommended the Vegan & Sara and Pineapple Express pizzas and we loved them! There was no skimping on the toppings, they distributed it all evenly, and the crust was perfect! I also appreciated the unique pizzas, which is cool because vegans don’t like paying extra money for basic toppings. Melissa also hooked us up with vegan parmesan and vegan ranch aioli! I’m not sure if she really hooked us up or if it’s free there, but it’s awesome to not be charged $1 like other vegan establishments charge for a cup of ranch. Lol We ordered a grapefruit IPA beer, which shows that they support local breweries. Love that. Also ordered vegan cauliflower wings with ranch and they were perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of crisp. Melissa recommenced the vegan alfredo pasta and it was delicious! I’m definitely coming back again! Thanks for making my first experience great!

It felt like my bf and I went to purgatory to get this pizza thats for sure. Not only were we way overcharged. ($60) for 2 pizzas that were different sizes and basic toppings. AND we also had to wait an eternity for our pizzas when it seemed like everyone around us had sat down ate and left. Mind you it was NOT busy…And now I can understand why, who has a casual $60 to throw down on a pizza? We could’ve gone to a nice restaurant instead 🙄. About 15 minutes before the pizza was finally done a cashier came to tell us they messed up the pizza and had to remake it. Cool, you could’ve told us that when it happened?or when I came to ask if the pizza was ready after 20 minutes?(when the cashier said it would be ready) Instead she refunded 20% which in my opinion was a joke considering we paid $60 for 2 pizzas AND THEY WERE BOTH DIFFERENT SIZES WITH NOTHING SPECIAL TO THEM. When we got the pizzas my bfs was cold probably because the pizza they messed up on was mine. And mine SHOCKINGLY was so burnt and hard I felt like I was biting into cardboard. Guess we should’ve checked the pizza before we left…but at that point we were so over it. I was a fan of this pizza before but after this experience I won’t be going back(and no…I wasn’t overcharged or given the run around like this time) I wish I could get my money back that’s for sure.

This should be a 5 star review and had I written this prior to this instances it would be a 5 star review, but I'm faced with longer lead times and poorer service as of recent.

I'm so confused and I'm not sure what's going on with Purgatory recently. I've been grabbing the amazing vegan pizza that Purgatory puts out for over 4 years now and it's always been amazing. The pizza is incredible, the service was impeccable, and the bicycle delivery dude is always incredibly pleasant.

Recently, I've noticed longer wait times and downright orders being forgotten with not only my orders by others order taking extended time to complete.

I always try to order from the website whenever it's best for me so that Purgatory gets maximum benefits from my patronage and I only use other services when I need the pizza delivered out of Purgatory Pizzas range. Our last 3 orders I've placed an hour or so early before arriving to Purgatory for pickup, but whenever we arrive our pizza hasn't even been started. One of these occasions we requested the pizza be cancelled and our whole order cancelled which included our pasta dish. We told the server who gave us the pasta dish no charge, but we don't want free food we want Purgatory to remain strong and in business! The days our food wasn't ready on time the physical amount of people inside did not exceed 2 but waiting in line with no one attending took 10 sometimes 15 minutes with uber eats drivers waiting patiently but upset to the side. I understand if the restaurant gets overwhelmed and very busy mobile order wise, but why not turn off mobile orders temporarily? It feels like our orders are being forgotten and waiting over an hour for a single pizza is strange. On top of that the vegan bombay is no longer available but was still available online so I had to wait almost 40 minutes before the system updated me what I ordered was no longer available which extended lead times!

I don't want free food or an apology I just want assurance that one of my favorite pizza spots is doing ok and if they need help with managing or with personnel then I'd hope they are updating their customers and...
