When I think of Reggie's Deli & Café, I'm immediately reminded of Cheers or the Central Perk from Friends. A place that gives off good vibes, friendly atmosphere, and an overall welcoming energy. It's no wonder that Reggie's has a near perfect 5-star rating! We were greeted warmly by Reggie himself as we walked through the doors, and all the workers and staff were incredibly friendly on a late Sunday morning.
Reggie's specializes in sandwiches, although the juices and gelato seem to come highly recommended. There's also wraps, salads, and breakfast sandwiches as well. They also offer a lunch special where you get half of a sandwich or wrap with a pint of soup or a salad for $8.95. My friend and I decided to just order two sandwiches and split it 50/50 so that we'd be able to try two sandwiches in one visit.
Food: We actually ordered Chicken Pesto panini and the Turkey Pesto panini, but when our orders came out, we realized that we didn't get the Turkey Pesto but the turkey club instead. It wasn't a big deal and luckily the sandwich was quite tasty. Both sandwiches came with a cucumber salad and a pickle. Out of the two sandwiches, I would say that I enjoyed the chicken pesto much more, just because it had pesto in it. With all the ingredients on toasted bread, the combination worked really well. The turkey breast wasn't too spectacular - I think better than your average Subway sandwich, but nothing amazing. It was loaded with fresh ingredients and tasted good, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get the turkey pesto like we had originally wanted.
Ambience: There's plenty of tables outside the deli as well as a few inside if you want to avoid the ever-changing LA weather. It's a nice place to people watch or catch up with a friend. With all the open windows, Reggie's definitely gives off a comfortable and homey vibe. I saw many patrons trickling in and greeting Reggie, something that is awesome to see as it shows he really cares about his customers.
They do have a happy hour gelato deal if I remember correctly. They're located next to Brite Spot Diner and a few blocks away from Echo Park. There's plenty of street parking if you don't mind walking a few minutes. Credit cards are...
Read moreI found this place on yelp, looking for a local deli. My partner had a craving for an egg salad with swiss, and I was on a mission to satisfy. Their location is almost hidden at the base of the towering bank buildings on Sunset. Though their giant red flags that read "Reggie's" seem like they would be adequate markers, (for an observant fella like myself), I noticed them waving high in the air on my way out of the sandwich shop. Anyhow, blah blah blah get to the point. Best egg salad sandwich we ever had. We've been 4 times in the last month or so and can't seem to veer away from the same order. Someday, I look forward to exploring their extensive menu :] p.s. : their chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies are amazing AND the coleslaw is delicious. I'd bet you would not be disappointed with their non egg...
Read moreI show up at their posted open hours. No one is there. I walk around for a little while, come back 6 minutes after, some employee is milking around inside. I walk up, I wave to them, they run in the back to not be seen, like a psycho. Uhhhhh so. At this point I call them, after 9 rings she comes out, looks at the phone, looks at me, and just says “oh. Nooooo.”

Wat?
Now she’s mouthing some at me from behind the door. I don’t know what she’s saying.
“What time do you guys open?” I say.
Very confusingly she says “8:45”
And after that, I remembered this place is overpriced and not really very good so I’m ok not giving them another dime. Last time I went I ordered a breakfast burrito and there was...
