Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Great store to get custard and when you get tired of ice cream they have Italian Icee it also mixing with the Custard which tastes really good whipped cream sprinkles and they can give it to you on the phone chocolate or vanilla or give you a straight Italian Icee which is really good. They're really big on the East Coast where I just came from and I was amazed that they had one out here what did they started with is still here and gives you great service and they have discounts for seniors and veterans about 10% but hey what a way to stretch your dollar especially when you have family! I think they open between 10- 8 p.m. open 7 days a week hopefully they have more stores that are out I'm just familiar with the stores on Pico and Sepulveda they had one further down Sepulveda on Washington that one closed down that one didn't have to close down that was before the pandemic . The staff was incredibly rude to me over the phone. I called to ask them for a list of flavors available that day. After placing me on hold the attendant came back and started rattling off flavors. I asked her to slow down a bit so I could write as she listed things. She just ignored me and kept listing things and I was only able to catch the first fewlavors. I asked if she could go back but instead she handed me to a second guy who did the same exact thing. As they were going I was literally saying "Could you wait one second. I'm writing this down." but they ignored me. It honestly felt like I was talking to a machine because there was no human element of listening to me or caring what I said. The entire process took longer than it ever would've if they just took half a second between flavors.

I’ve been getting Rita’s since I was a kid and I loved it then and I still love it. It’s always a great sweet treat and it was again today. The owners and staff are really polite and were very welcoming. I have tried almost all of their different drink options, but the Italian Ice is still my favorite and their best seller. Today I chose a large cherry with salted caramel custard on top and it was absolutely fantastic. I don’t think I would ever not be in the mood for it. The only downside is when you get it you will immediately want to get another one soon after you finish it. They have a very large parking lot attached so parking is free and easy. They have some tables on the inside if you want to stay indoors while you finish your treat but most opt for takeout. I definitely will be back...
