Great dive bar! Been coming here for many years. Renovated everything. Looks great... the music and setting are on point. Disco groove. Believed to be a old police hangout spot. When you walk by the restrooms you can see police patches of all departments. Great place I love it.
Now for customer service- there's one bartender that has it against me. While I was at the bar enjoying my drink he comes over and literally shoos me away like a dog- with the whole hand action. As a calm and balanced soul, i look at him with shock and immediately give him my back-which infuriated him. He then continued by tapping me on my shoulder and shooing me away- unacceptable.
I turn back and tell him "Dude! This a bar I'm enjoying my drink" he then says "if you ain't buying get out of here" I think to myself; Ok, I just bought two drinks and trying enjoy them at bar what's this guys problem... at the point I knew he had some issues- either racial or just didn't like the way I looked. Again, as a calm soul and not wanting to add fuel to his fire I give him my back. He doesn't stop there. He flashes his light to the security guard that was standing by the door and tells him to kick me out. Security guard comes up to me and I tell him that I'm just enjoying my drink and not causing any trouble. He scans me and my surroundings and concludes that I'm not the issue and walks away. I turn back at the bartender and smirk at him. Letting him know that I won this battle.
He bursts into a rage and starts waving and screaming "Get out out out"-"Get him out of here I don't want to see him" Again, flashing his light at security guard, security comes to me and kindly tells me to relocate. Noticing that everyone was in shock and knowing that i wasn't in the wrong. I move and relocated. Everyone was amazed and disgusted at how this bartender was treating me.
This is one of my favorite bars in Echo park and will continue to come, but can't understand how this bartender still works here. The many times I been here he has always been rude to everyone. Well if you guys or management want to know who I'm talk about- I kindly give y'all a description.
-White frail male probably in his 30's about 5'8 with long blondish hair always sticking out of his cap. Can't miss him.
@ management I suggest you retrain or replace this bartender. Not fair how he treats people. And probably breaking the law when he decided to put his...
Read moreGo anywhere else! Drunk bartenders and incompetent employees! The place is small, the music is boring and generic, and there is only one pool table. When I went here to open a tab, the bartender lady did not hold onto my card or ID or anything which was suspicious. Some other random worker tried to take a drink from my table that clearly wasn't even finished yet. I come back to order more drinks, and the bartender is different this time, a drunk male who can hardly even focus. I get the drinks, close my tab, but he hands me someone else's card. "This isn't my card," I say, and then I tell him my name for the tab. He couldn't find it (because the first bartender lady never held onto my stuff which was a bad mistake) so essentially I make a new tab and close it right away. (I was not charged for the drinks I ordered before from the lady.) I go back to the bar and there is a new bartender lady (who is also the person who tried to take my unfinished drink away), and I just went to as if I still have a tab open (because that last guy was very drunk), and she says no. I'm not sure how this is possible or what happened to my first tab. 4-5 days later, I get charged for everything I should have been charged for that night, (I saved money in case I would get charged later), but on top of that, I get charged an extra $38 from 2 bonus transactions that never even happened!
Please do not waste your time...
Read moreFor a dive bar, that is well know throughout L.A., it is actually quite nice. But you can tell a lot of the people that go there are regulars, and the bartenders definitely cater to the regulars more than just a visitor for the evening. Their sound system speakers are blown out, and the music is so loud no matter where you are in the bar, that you can't even talk to someone without yelling, and even then you can only hear half of the conversation. They have a pool table in a nice back room, that has a nice amount of couches and small tables. But some of the seats are extremely close to the pool table, and if you aren't careful there is a pretty good chance that drunk woman might hit you in the face with a pool stick. (Poor guy never saw it coming.) Around the main bar itself, there is very limited standing space, and it's definitely difficult to even make it past the entrance due to the mass amount of people standing/stacked together just talking or people watching awkwardly that you have to squeeze through before you feel like you can breathe again. If you like your personal space, this is definitely not the bar for you. Lady, the women's bathroom...WOW. The bathroom is so incredibly tiny that if the two stalls are taken you have to stand basically right outside both of the stall doors, our risk getting hit by the door, and sanitary...
