We went at approximately 7:30 PM on a Thursday. Parking was difficult to find, but we managed to find a spot within the residential area nearby.
The patio is smaller and was full, but we were able to get a spot inside at the bar. It was only my partner and myself and one other table inside, leaving plenty of space between us all for social distancing.
There was this great dive bar motif, with warm colors and vintage decorations. None of it was kitschy, though, and all worked together to create an inviting environment.
The menu is small, but had falafel as a vegetarian option. I ordered the backyard burger which hit that nostalgic spot of grilled burgers with friends. My partner order the falafel and loved it as well. We shared the banana creme pie, which although isn't my favorite type of pie, was still delightful.
The drink menu had a varied can and bottle selection, while having a decent draft list. $4 Bavik pils was a great option.
Staff was friendly and not overbearing. I would be happy to go...
Read moreSo, I’ve been coming here all season. I am moving to Cleveland soon so decided to attend the last home World Series game 2025. I bought an Ohtani ball at the Dodgers gift shop, and since I considered The Douglas a home place I tried asking one of the bartenders to sign my ball. I wanted to put it in my new place for memory. From a professional, and former local this makes me never want to return. I’d love to speak to management, being a Director of Operations, I find this unacceptable. The Douglas, you turned your back on one of your own. Until I receive a formal apology, I will let everyone know. For future reference, be mindful of who you disrespect, and remind your...
Read moreTook my family here for some drinks and food. We had everyone from ages 10 to 65. All my family members enjoyed the Douglas. The atmosphere was great, staff was amazing and super helpful. Restrooms were very clean and stocked. No matter where you got a seat or table whether it be inside or outside. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and my wife and son had the burger. Both were really good. My son even went as far to say, "the burger was better than McDonald's". I had a good laugh when he said that, so I guess you can say it's kid approved. The fries we were able to share and were equally as delicious. I also had to try the sweet treat of the day, a banana pudding pie (superb). All in all this is a place I highly recommend to anyone looking for great bar food, good brews and family friendly. We will definitely be...
