I have worked in the restaurant industry over 15 years. I was an apprentice at the Meurice Paris as well as the Kong and some other establishments in London as well.
Iโve learned to read very well people and yes it is โstreet foodโ. I get it.
I donโt speak Spanish but I do speak three languages and Iโm well travelled. The food is palatable and enjoyable probably some of the best Mexican food in town but thereโs something very, very wrong with some of the staff. The staff is harboring some vicious deep seated hatred for their customers who seem to surface potently whenever itโs not my husband picking up our meal but me.
Today for the 3rd time that I personally picked up our dinner I could clearly see two of the employees mocking me openly in Spanish for asking basic questions thinking that I wouldnโt understand or read trough their moqueries all that without provocation from me,being polite and looking average I surmise.
The first time I was treated poorly by a lady; I put it on the account of her potentially having a bad day (we all do have them). Second time I was taken aback but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. 3rd time is a charm or a curse depending on how you see it. I never seen servers behaving in such a derogatory manner in the context of customer service towards clients.
Do yourself a favor; even if your business is located on the sidewalk itโs not an excuse to treat customers like itโs your laughing matter. Get help and...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is basically a street vendor taco place. Everything is on the sidewalk at the entrance to whole Foods. I was recommended this place and it was a great one too. I took it to go so our tacos were a bit greasy and placed in foil. If we had sat at the makeshift sidewalk table we would have had paper plates. The Horchata was good and a large cup too. My son had carne asada tacos and I had the pastor. My son who eats a lot of tacos said these were good but our hometown taco truck was still better but they were not bad and he has had worse ones too. I really like the pastor because they were meaty strips of the pork and not chopped up meat that I usually find at taco trucks. I forgot my usual cilantro on them but even plain with just meat and the tortilla they were good. The meat was not dry and was very full of flavor. All the salsas, onion, and cilantro are included with the taco price. They provide small cups with lids for you to take or to just put on your tacos if eating at the sidewalk table. Definitely a place I will go to again but would sit to eat there just so I can...

Food preparer making my burrito repeatedly held and moved trashcan with hands as he was handling my food. Moved trash can, grabbed raw onions. Adjusted trash can, grabbed cilantro. Moved trash can, folded my burrito. After he prepared my burrito, he dug his hands into the bins of onions, cilantro, and rice to mix them up. In the photo, you can see the trash can is blocking his work space and path. I think he was using it as a shelf? Thereโs even a hand towel he placed there to wipe his hands occasionally. Why not place the trash can behind the fence where it doesnโt block you and you still have easy access?
Line was long I didnโt want to make a deal about it since I love the food and support this establishment.
I hate to do this to a local joint that is one of my favorites where I frequent sometimes twice in a week. Iโm hoping this message reaches the owners of this taco stand so...
