Star of Siam — Restaurant in Santa Monica

This food was flavorless and a rip off. I’ve never been more disappointed in a food experience. I have never written one of these before, that should let you know how awful this was.

Springrolls we’re not fresh. Made of lettuce and shrimp. There weren’t any other ingredients. The outer paper wasn’t soaked all the way through so it was chewy in parts.

The green curry was thin, like water. There weren’t any ingredients other than chicken and large squares of onion. Oh and large carrots. But that’s it and it was flavorless.

The curry doesn’t come with rice so I ordered a side. This was a mistake because the rice tasted like dirty tap dish water. There wasn’t any aroma. And I couldn’t get that taste out of my palette because the curry was flavorless. Wanton soup was reminiscent of the cheap place in the hood. The broth was from powder and there wasn’t any flavor in the wantons. No spices or herbs.

The last dish was the pad see ew, which also didn’t have any flavor. The beef was chewy and dry at the same time. The broccoli was also dry. This usually a very flavorful dish.

Not one part of this order was satiating so that’s why I felt compelled to write this. I do feel lucky to be able to order food so I’m not complaining, I just feel swindled and want my money back. The last thing about that was that online the prices were different from what I was charged and the worker there had an explanation. I told him okay, I mean I already paid for it and then he explained it to me again. I called the order in to save the restaurant money even though I was picking it up. When you order at a place for a while it feels tough to leave a harsh review. Because I know this means I am cutting off ties permanently with your business😃😆🥲🥲 See, I am a vegetarian. And when I order tofu and you give me beef it makes me sure that you have a real smart little cook in the back. Because tofu and beef are tough to mistake, even by human standards. And management should #FireAPunkLikeThat. I consider it a personal affront that you would serve me beef when I definitely ordered tofu.
