I’ve passed by a couple of times and I’ve seen some friends post about it on their Instagram story so I had to come in! I wasn’t sure about the silhouettes before going in but I had heard about their unique dying process so that intrigued me to take a gander!
I felt kind vibes going in and I was impressed by the presentation of the clothes and shop. Even the employee fit the aesthetic which helped me to visualize what the clothes would look like on someone. The gentlemen in the shop was happy to help me with my questions while browsing, too. He was genuine and shared the what the company was about (Didn’t get his name to shoutout!)
I had no clue that this brand uses different plants to dye the clothing every season!!! I am in love!! The quality of the garments are divine, gender neutral and very sturdy. I can see a lot of my clients falling in love with so many of the pieces. I’d ABSOLUTELY style my clients with some of the blazers, corduroy pants... loved the variety of materials and the gorgeous colors.. Seriously, the colors are just so good. It’s clothes that would feel really good on the body and gives bold and pleasant statement. Well constructed with lots of consideration.
I’m definitely bringing my clients here without hesitation. Unfortunately the neighboring business next door (Rudy Jude) was not the same experience. I felt uncomfortable and judged going in even though I had good intentions and some questions. I have a lot of questions because I am a personal stylist. I want to know if the products will suit certain clients (I.e. what sizes they offer, if there is a collection of accessories, what’s coming in next season, etc) I will not bring my business to Rudy Jude if I receive the same experience again.
Thank you Older Brother for being welcoming. Loved the autumn collection.. every piece was a winner. My clients will love the that indigo tank top, corduroy and blazers. Pictures of my...
Read moreI have never in my life dealt with such unkind and unhelpful customer service. I ordered a pair of shorts that were supposed to take 2-3 weeks lead time. After three weeks, I requested an update. The person I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude, litigating my email history with him and refusing to provide an update. After four weeks, I followed up and asked again for an update. They told me it would ship within the “next few days.” A week later I followed up again, was told it was “surely on the way,” only to receive an email six hours later telling me my order had been cancelled because the “dye didn’t turn out how it was supposed to.” Mind you, this is all on top of regular emails to their customer “service” line that went completely unanswered.
I love supporting small design studios who produce made-to-order, sustainable clothing. I was very excited about this purchase. Unfortunately, Older Brother is exceedingly unprofessional and fails on their own terms. The staff are incompetent, customer service is non-existent, and it seems their product supply itself is unreliable. I think they make beautiful clothes, but I wouldn’t know because they never bothered to deliver them. I’d strongly discourage anyone from spending money here, especially considering the high...
Read moreI bought a shirt from this place and got it shipped last week. IT REEKS BAD. It stinks up the area of the room it’s in and despite washing it twice, it still smells like a stagnant bog. Some of their items are dyed with algae and kelp, which is pretty neat, but the odor it gives off is strong. They note that the clothing has hints of the sea, but it’s a lot more...
