TGI Fridays — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Came here as we do from time to time because it os halfway between the two households we live in. My 90 year old mom lives with me and my sister and her daughter live the opposite direction just about the same distance. We got there around the same time and I asked for a big booth. We got one of our favorite ones and soon we met our adorable waiter Trevor! He was so cute and I commented after he took our drink orders at how cute he was and how his eyes were so big and I could just feel the love oozing out of him. Once he found out my mom turned 90 today he was even more sweet getting us our food and making sure we were happy. I usually take pictures of all the food we eat here but I was honestly so struck by his energy and attentiveness that I plumber forgot to take any lol. After the meal he brought mom an ice cream sundae 🍨!!! It was so fun being here thanks 100% to Trevor and the food was also delicious especially loved my sirloin Steak with broccoli and her butter and whiskey sauce! He brought the bill and when we hesitated as we had already spent a lot on mom all day, she said I will pay. I said no let me pay and I pulled my visa out. Then something amazing occurred. Trevor said "hand it to me," so I did. I thought he was going to go into the back and see if the manager might give us a discount as we are all members of tgifs online discounts. But no he came back and said "I took care of it!!!" We all were like WHAT? How? He said I paid for it. My jaw dropped and we were all completely bowled over with his kind heart and loving soul. My God where did this sweet adorable kind man come from? We chatted and it turns out he was from the same state as my mom's family! Idaho! Anyway we were so grateful and felt blessed by his gesture of love for us! A true blue Great man. We have him.a great tip and left feeling such love for this restaurant and for his kind soul. We enjoy eating here at TGIF as our local neighborhood restaurant. The. parking is easy, we and have never had a problem parking, as it is part of a larger shopping mall. The food is always good, the service good, the staff are friendly and the prices are just right. We like coming for their occasional specials and deals. Right now their having a $14.99 special, you get 2 proteins like a steak and salmon or steak and shrimp, plus a side of vegetables and baked or mashed potato. The best time to come is lunch time, no waiting, it’s quieter, you don’t feel rushed to finish and you can linger. Dinner time is another matter. We came here on a Friday at 4:40pm and the wait was about 5-10 minutes. By the time we left about an hour later, the restaurant was packed and the benches outside were all full with patrons waiting for a table. I don’t know how long the wait time was for them, so I recommend coming early for dinner. We like their soups, the onion soup is especially good. We always order the flatbread as a appetizer, very good as well. Their portion size of their desserts are huge. We ordered the red velvet cake, so moist and yummy, to share between the two of us and we couldn’t finish it. This is a great casual restaurant with good food, good service, and good prices. Sadly i wasn't able to sit on the table. It was a horrible service. Really poor customer service. My family and i went there on sunday around 3:30 pm. We were 5. I walk there and had to write my name and waited for to be call, i walk out to the front door and started to wait. Then i start seen people coming in in groups of 4,3&8 then i realized that something was wrong because i found myself being the only one still waiting. I ask them if they had reserve tables and they said no. So i ask them why are they being help and not my family. They reply because there is no open table for 5. But they had tables for 3,4 and 8. I was really mad and ask to talk to a manager, so when she came to talk to me she said to me that they will try to get me a table as soon as one for 5 opens. That got me more nad because it wasnt fair for me and my family to keep on waiting while others were being help. I end up leaving and it was the best decision i made. We drove to the mall and decide to eat at WOOD RANCH. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Nothing compare to tgi Friday. I will never recommend tgi Fridays to anyone.
