This is the first time I've been to this restaurant. I thought they are serving a traditional Thai food but I was wrong. Well, they do serve traditional Thai but aside from that, they also serve Thai dimsum. Say what? Thai dimsum? Yes, they also have siumai like other Chinese dimsum but the rest are different. They are all good and filling. Check out the pictures I posted.
The porridge is really good. I ordered the pork instead of the chicken and the porridge is not bland unlike other dimsum places.
I ordered 7 different kind of dimsum. All basically have either ground chicken or pork as the base and they put the different kind of ingredients on top each one except the siumai, fish tofy and seaweed. My favorite is the preserved egg.
I was given 2 different sauces. A seasoning sauce (basically like knorr or maggie) and a sweet sour red sauce.
For dessert, I ordered the coconut cake. Very good and tasty. It came with a whipped cream and a sliced srawbeery and a couple of blueberries :)
The place is cozy and clean. The servers are very nice and always come back asking how the food and if we need anything more. I would definitely go back to this place and bring the family next. Please like my...
Read moreHonestly… every single thing we ordered was pretty badly made even for the low standards of Eagle Rock Thai food. We ordered beef pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, and tom kha kai. For 3 dinner entrees, out the door at $57 inc. tax and tip.
Each one was poorly prepared in the way a home cook new to cooking might make it. Starting with pad see ew, the noodles were stale and poorly tossed so we got fat clumps of uncooked noodles and not a single noodle was longer than an inch. For $18, you would expect there to be more than 4 pieces of meat. You would be wrong.
The pineapple fried rice was also clumpy with big balls of unmixed and unseasoned gummy white rice. The whole thing was overcooked and then for some strange reason, they out pre-ground black pepper over the top so it looked and tasted like someone put tasteless dirt for garnish.
Lastly, tom kha was actually pretty good. Room temperature but properly spiced. Again, you’re looking at $18-$19 at this so for a pick up order, you’re paying DoorDash prices for DoorDash quality.
This was a memorably bad meal and I...
Read moreFor starters I ordered the thai coconut combination appetizer which came with tempura veggies and shrimp, egg rolls, fried wontons, and a different kind of shrimp. I was really disappointed in the tempura veggies and shrimp. They did not taste fresh whatsoever and did not resemble tempura at all. It was just breaded and way too over fried. I also have never in my life had "tempura" broccoli or eggplant. The eggplant was overly mushy and broccoli was difficult to bite. The wontons had microscopic filling and sadly the only 4 shrimps that were included were overdone as well. My pad thai was okay; it lacked flavor compared to other pad thai I've had. The one thing that is really great is the pad see ew. It was traditionally flavorful and had a great kick of spice since I ordered that spicy. I think it's weird that they charge $2 extra for beef especially on a pad see ew but it was definitely worth it. I will be back for the pad see ew but not too sure about trying anything else. It...
