Worked here for three weeks, one Co-worker invites his friends in to use the multiple thousand dollar PA system as their own personal trap jukebox despite there being a rule that the music has to be an approved rock-and-roll playlist. The patrons we had at the time all closed their tabs and left, grumbling about the deafening trap music and complete change of atmosphere from before mike came in with his trap crew and afterward. On my next shift, he came in on his night off, and when a borderline overserved woman ordered two beers, went to the restroom and then came out and demanded that since she worked at another bar she was entitled not to pay for the open beers because she and her friends wanted to leave. Told her she had to pay $8 for the open beers, that’s what happens when you order a drink and she quickly became verbally abusive and began to threaten me. Asked her to confirm twice that she was indeed threatening me, and upon her confirmation that “yes l am threatening you” l signaled the bouncer to escort her out. Then mike jumped in and said“naw, I’ll handle this” reached behind the bar and grabbed a bottle of Jameson out of of the well and proceeded to pour shots for the overserved and menacing customer that l had made a call to cut off and have removed from the premises. The other employee on shift was happy to continue serving her, citing “the customer is always right”. Clearly she has never been ABC certified because she won’t cut off overserved customers, not only that but aside from 1 mixer 1 liquor drinks and cracking beers, she has no idea about Bartending or how to count out CC tips and do a drop, and even as l had already quit (the girl threatening me was being given free liquor and encouraged to continue to badmouth and threaten me while l stood there trying to work) another patron came in and tried to order some Vegas bombs or kamikazes or any kind of fruity shot, and she just stood there shrugging until l had to take off my coat, cancel my Uber and make him his drink and ring it up to boot before l could finally leave. This girl also stole my cc tips from the previous shift when l left early after mike started swearing at me for telling his friends that they couldn’t use the PA to play trap off their phones, According to the owner’s and manager’s instructions, then she refused to hand them over saying “you left so you don’t get them” and kept my tips for the second problem shift as well, despite leaving early for her shift the weekend before and me splitting the cc tips evenly and leaving her half under the cash drawer to pick up the next day. Now l am being ghosted by my former boss who owes me hundreds Of dollars in stolen tips which he agreed to reimburse me for. The King Eddy is dead. We can’t keep our customers because the employees are unprofessional and poorly trained if not unlicensed to serve alcohol in the state of CA, and one wants to treat the business like his own personal trap house and give away booze that isn’t his. l foresee it closing again because a bar can’t make money if the employees are drunk on shift and giving away all...
Read moreThis place is convenient in burbank for a local spot...if not most places are closed or far during the day. I loved the Hospitality when we walked in. The flights are cheap and worth the surprise deal when you get there. As far as I've tried many wines...these were amazing for the price and the flavor of these wines where amazing. I recommend tre vigne Cabernet! So good not to dry but just perfect! Pair it with a good steak and your taste buds will water. 10/10 for downtown burbank you will not find any other...
Read moreThe Eddy was rehabbed a few years back. It's is still a dive, but a much improved one. The bartenders are cool. They serve a great selection of old school cocktails, many that probably haven't been served on the regular for the last 50+ years.Great prices. They also have an excellent ginger beer. If your lucky, you might get to see the old 20's speaker in the basement that is connected, still, to the old bootlegging tunnels that run under...
