For sure this is the best açaí I’ve had in Los Angeles. It’s better than the best in the OC, where I’ve had the worst açaí I’ve ever had.
Lately I’ve been coming at around 10 am. I’ve ordered Puruba bowls with honey and bee pollen and high cost about $15. At around this time you can often find free parking in the lot.
I’ve mostly ordered açaí on doordash. Today I saw a parking spot and left as soon as I git my food.
Even though Ubatuba is a chain it has maintained considerable quality over other similar chains. Even though it’s a chain they manage to seem like they’re not which is good.
Big, enormous drawback: parking is now almost always valet. Absolutely lame. C’est la vie in Koreatown…
The prices aren’t that bad. I pretty much always get a medium Puruba. It has açaí, granola, strawberries, pineapple and passion fruit pulp. I add bee pollen.
I also like their pao de queijo. Sometimes it’s hard and dry and truly awful, but when you get a good batch it’s quite good. Not the best I’ve had though. I’ve also tried the empanadas which are decent but expensive, and are made elsewhere.
The place is usually empty so there’s no ambiance. Most people do take out.
Service is quite friendly and fast.

Read moreI recently had the opportunity to try a really good acai smoothie, and I have to say, it was an absolute treat.
The smoothie itself was a beautiful shade of deep purple, and it was packed with all sorts of healthy ingredients like acai berries, banana, blueberries, and almond milk. The flavor was sweet and refreshing, with a hint of tropical fruit and a creamy texture that was absolutely delicious.
But what really set this smoothie apart was the attention to detail. The acai berries were clearly of the highest quality, and the smoothie was topped with a variety of tasty and nourishing garnishes like chia seeds, coconut flakes, and honey. It was a truly satisfying and nourishing treat that left me feeling energized and refreshed.
Overall, I was extremely impressed with this really good acai smoothie. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the ingredients were all top-notch. I would highly recommend this smoothie to anyone looking for a healthy and delicious way to...
Read moreAs a returning customer, I have to say I’m really disappointed with the quality and value at this location. The strawberries and blueberries are consistently very sour, which throws off the balance of the bowl. But the biggest issue is the amount of açaí—they are incredibly stingy with it. While the açaí itself is tasty, the portion is so small that it feels like you’re paying mostly for toppings and granola rather than what should be the main ingredient.
For $17 a bowl, I expect way better. What’s even more frustrating is that the large bowl here is the same size as the medium at the Santa Monica location, which means you’re getting significantly less for the same price. It’s just not worth it when other locations are offering better portions and quality for the same cost.
If you’re looking for value, this isn’t the place. I won’t be coming back unless they improve their portion sizes and...
