I love malatang and didn't expect to find such a good place in Koreatown. Both hot pot and dry pot are priced by weight and they cost the same. It came to around $20-25 a bowl putting in everything I wanted (and one bowl last me 2 meals).

I really like the flavor of the finished bowl. I went for the lowest possible spicy level and it's doable. The good thing was that it didn't reduce other flavor, just the spice. The dry pot was much more spicy than the soup one and I had to wash it in soup before eating. But overall, this was a very delicious malatang.

They also have skewers. The squid tentacle was very good. I didn't really like squid texture but I finished the tentacle because it's really good. The korean dumplings were very good too. They also have wangzai milk (chinese sweet milk). The menu is mostly Chinese food in the mids of KTown.

Free parking at lunch time (not sure about dinner but probably charged). It's a cozy place for lunch and a...

Itโ€™s very interesting and amazing to have a Korean owned Chinese sichuan spicy place in this neighborhood:) Iโ€™m loving it! The taste is very good and almost authentic to what I normally have in China. You walk into the restaurant, grab the bowl and pick the fresh ingredients from the bar, then you can pick how spicy (1-4) you want in the dry pot or soup pot. I wish they could also provide the variations of the pepper corns since the numbness is a crucial flavor in Sichuan spicy cuisine. Haha

One thing a bit confusing for me is that they call themselves WOK BAR spicy hot pot, but itโ€™s not the traditional Chinese hot pot dining experience.

Anyways, I am super excited about this place near my home, and will definitely...

I usually don't write reviews, but I had to share my terrible experience. I ordered a dry hot pot and was enjoying my food until this happened. While chewing, I felt something hard and sharp that I had to spit out. I was shocked to see that it was indeed a STAPLER PIN!! I almost swallowed it , and you know how detrimental the outcome would have been if it went through my stomach. I called the restaurant right away just to let the owner (he was a tall guy) know to avoid this incidence in the future for other customers. However, his reaction was priceless. He literally said, "Okay I'm apologizing so you shouldn't feel bad about it." So I'll leave you guys with that. I highly suspect their food hygiene rating so be...
