One of my favorite spots in Boyle Heights for comida casera. Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I have tried their chilaquiles, sopes, tacos and quesadillas. Everything has been delicious! Their tacos and quesadillas use tortillas a mano. The quesadilla is huge, not you're average size quesadilla. Their salsa roja is spicy and very tasty. The salsa roja for their chilaquiles is very tasty as well. I tried the salsa verde as well, but I prefer red. Their drink selection isn't the best, but it'll do. In addition to bottled sodas, they also have coffee that is made in a regular coffee maker. Nothing outstanding in the beverage department, but that's not the reason I'm there anyhow lol. They do have public restrooms that although may look a little intimidating, are kept clean. The restaurant is located in a block that hosts a range of other businesses and is across from the iconic Mariachi Plaza, which leads me to my next point. Parking is very limited, there is metered street parking available, but just like any other place in LA, it can be a hassle finding parking. I highly recommend either taking a rideshare service, public transportation such as the train that drops you off right across from the restaurant or walking. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but the entrance is a bit cluttered with stuff so it may be a little difficult to get through the door if you are entering in a wheelchair. The restroom is also at the end of a small hallway that may be very difficult for someone in a wheelchair to get to. There is seating inside as well as some seating outside. The establishment accepts all forms of payment. They offer takeout as well. The restaurant is owned by a Latino family, happy to support them.

This little hole in the wall serves up some delicious real authentic Mexican food. I just had my favorite dish there "Chuletas de Puerco" Pork Chops. It's rice, beans and two Pork Chops in this red salsa. The salsa is not hot but has a ton of flavor wich makes it so delicious. They also serve hand made tortillas that just adds to that true authentic Mexican meal. This was the dish that won me over and I was so lucky to have ordered it there on my first visit there. Every time I head over there I tell myself I'm going to try something else but that dish is just so delicious I find myself ordering it all the time. This place is small. They have about 4 booths a small bar for seating.

Bomb! The hole in the wall joints are always the best. The street event really shortened their menu, but the enchiladas were really good. I'll definitely go back on a normal day. I heard the local city councilman frequents the place, I will too because the food was that good!

Visit only if you want to experience great authentic Mexican home cooking at an affordable price. It's like your auntie from Mexico just blessed you with a visit and wants to cook for you in this small but intimate space. It actually feels like sitting in a large kitchen and seating is limited so beware. Don't fret, you can always eat alfresco across the street at the lovely Mariachi Plaza. The Chilaquiles are absolutely the BEST IN LOS ANGELES. I've tried many and love different versions but this place serves them like no other. A master class in how to serve slightly crunchy yet tender Chilaquiles in an amazing sauce (green or red). Delicious Salsas. Down to earth and sweet owners/service all creates a...

Guys this is it! The real deal when it comes down to Mexican food (though the chilaquiles and salsa roja are mediocre). The pozole is spot on - I travel from Culver for a bowl of Letty's pozole, so gooood!

I've had their chile relleno, cocido (beef soup), beans, rice, pozole, sope (made with fresh masa), quesadilla (they're huge and she makes them fresh y de masa!, costillitas en chile de molcajete, jericayas (best I've ever had in L.A. hands down! They don't always have them so you have to special order them - so worth it!). Oh and the corn tortillas are fresh too.

The only thing I have to complain about is that there is barely any room so you have to try your luck... but that can be solved if you...
