Disappointed & overpriced for the quality. We couldn't wait for this location to open and stopped by on opening day. Purchased almost $100 in frozen, fresh & hot food items & were extremely disappointed with everything except for the jambalaya they were serving (that was really good). The frozen stuffed bell peppers were probably the worst out of everything. When thawed & cooked as directed, the pepper was overly soft & watery. The seafood stuffing had a total of 2-1/2 crawfish tails between both peppers & the rest of the dressing had absolutely no flavor. I wasn't sure if it was rice, bread or both & just was overall mush. They were simply gross & we threw them out. The stuffed chicken was a huge disappointment & on the small side especially if you've ever had one from Gourmet Butcher Block & theirs are half the price of Bergeron's. The chicken & seafood rice stuffing had little to no flavor. This dish also didn’t cook too well & the chicken was dry. The potato casserole (bought frozen) was pretty good but over salted. The boudin wasn't boudin & made with beef not pork (at least that's what it seemed) & also had no flavor. I wouldn't buy this again either & Rouses in-house boudin when compared is much better. Maybe this location still has some wrinkles to iron out before they are fully operational? If the prices were lower, I'd consider trying other things, but based on what we got the first time it would be a waste of money. We hope you...
Read moreIf you are looking for a taste of authentic Louisiana Cajun cooking, steeped in tradition and soaked in flavor you have found it. Boudin pork deep fried balls are a mixture of pork meats, spices pepper jack and some filler. The deep fried chicken cracklings are a treat for your senses that came out fresh and hot and a little salty but I didn't mind. They offer a variety of cajun specialty meats from wild game to traditional Cajun favorites here. Even alligator sausage. Their meats are Louisiana Certified and infused with unique spices and rubs, helping to deliver an unparalleled culinary experience like none other. They have a walk in and purchase section that has coolers of frozen food options, a hot and ready counter to grab and go (that we enjoyed) and they also offer a sit down and eat space as well. Hands down a great spot. Establishment was tucked back in a strip type of business complex. Inbetween a sports apparel store and a notary. We came in with the truck and found parking was tight on the gravel lot but we made it work. So happy we found this spot and because we were staying local for a moment we...
Read moreThe cure for red light fever. Stopping in here for a quick bite really helps elevate my mood after fighting with traffic.
Skip the fast food chains, do yourself and your family a favor and eat here. I bought two meat pies, a venison burrito and a smoked chicken sandwich. That first taste of the venison and my eyes rolled up toward heaven in culinary bliss. The texture, delicate dough and the blended flavors brought color and life back into my day in a hospital parking lot. Meat pie was a delicious indulgence and I didn't eat my wife's meat pie, although I was tempted. The smoked chicken had a lot of excellent flavor, but it needs something in it to keep it from getting tough/dried out.
Parking is right in front of the business, I went at lunch and still found a place to park. It's also close to Lowes if you're on a supply run.
Awesome selection of refrigerated pre-seasoned meat, pre-made sides and ready to eat food. Staff are very helpful. Chicken cracklin excellent. Some bacon wrapped good could be cooked touch longer for crisper outside. Meat pies are good, crawfish pies are ok.
They definitely earned...
