Highly recommend if you are looking for a good sit down meal with comfort food! Good portion sizes, and everything is very tasty. Had the “Mediterranean Hummus” as a starter, and it was phenomenal. Would put it at the same level as the Greek/Mediterranean restaurant down the road. Really loved the sun-dried tomatoes on it as well. For main course meal, had the Garlic & Herb Roasted Chicken w/ Corn Grits and Red Beans & Rice. The chicken was cooked well, and was moist and juicy. The garlic and herb was almost like a pesto exterior, which meant I had some in every bite rather than just baked into the skin. The red beans and rice were good, however the true star of the show were the Corn Grits. I could probably order a bowl or two of these they are so good! The service was thorough throughout, and very timely. Never ran low on drink levels, food was out quickly and paced well considering the appetizer. Bill came out only a few minutes after we were finished. Overall, there are a lot of very good restaurants in Covington... Zeas is right up there near the top. If you are looking for something different from the usual Cajun, Creole, Seafood that is typical of the area. I highly recommend Zara’s!

I use to work in the same area as the restaurant and sometimes during lunch I would order their Mediterranean Hummus, it was always so good but I can tell a certain chef was making it and they clearly are not there anymore because it is not as good as it use to be. Every ingredient would be finely chopped and added to my hummus almost like it was made with love. I remember doing curbside pickup and Danielle would always come out with a smile on her face and a nice greeting before handing me the order exactly how I wanted it. I'm hoping this restaurant doesn't go through multiple chefs because the taste and production change in the food is quite noticeable. At this point, The food is good depending on what you order. Down below is a picture of how I would always get my Mediterranean Hummus to go, I saw someone else's review and photo of their Mediterranean Hummus and our photos are most definitely different.

The rotisserie chicken here is some of the best I've ever had - never dry, always full of flavor. Last time I had it dry rubbed, this time I tried the Hawaiian glazed (pineapple ginger teriyaki). Yes! Nicely accompanied by roasted corn grits and pleasantly seasoned green beans. Couldn't resist the happy hour discount to get a Blueberry Mule, which was delicious. Also tried the bread pudding - it was rich and buttery and dense - and so large you could easily share. The only thing I didn't like here was the ice cream. It was OK, but bland and unexciting next to all the other great flavors (it really needed more vanilla to stand up to the bread pudding). Overall, great experience.

Truly terrible experience… we used to absolutely LOVE Zea! Their corn grits were always phenomenal, service was great, but man…. Things have changed drastically since the last time we were there. We went in on a Friday night around 7:30 PM and it was not crowded at all, which should have tipped us off. We first ordered drinks and an appetizer, then ordered our meals. Appetizer came, but the drinks from the bar still hadn’t shown up. Actual meals came and still no bar drinks. Also hadn’t seen our waitress since placing the order. Different servers brought both the appetizer and meals. Finally flagged down our waitress and told her we never got the drinks from the bar. She said “oh, I forgot to go check on them. I told her to just cancel the order because at this point, we were almost through dinner. She came back and said she cancelled the drinks. Then a few minutes later came back and said a printer in the bar didn’t print out our order so it was never placed. It seemed to me like she didn’t order them at all, but who knows… had she checked on us at all after placing our order, we could have told her. Finished eating and got out my credit card and laid it on the table. 20 minutes passed and still hadn’t seen the waitress again. Finally, flagged her down and told her we were ready for the bill. She went and took a few other tables orders than brought the bill. I handed her my card without even looking at the bill because we were so annoyed. About 15 minutes later after giving her the card, we still hadn’t seen her again. Looked around and she was delivering drinks to a table. No clue where my credit card was…. Finally after another 15 or so minutes, she brings my card back. As we were leaving, I stopped a lady and asked if she was the manager. I explained the terrible experience we had and the only thing she said was, “well, she’s been here for a year and nobody else has ever Complained’” what??? Super disappointing service and the food was just ok… nothing to write home about. We will not be back. Such a shame because this used to be a great...

Outstanding food, decent amounts served, but the pricing is expensive. I know really good food costs more, but the appetizer of spinach dip for $14.99 consisted of only perhaps 3 tablespoonsful of dip, and we had 3 people sharing it. I don't mind sharing and I don't mind paying for great food, but this was truly ridiculous, in my honest opinion. Otherwise, the Thai Ribs were phenomenal, and extra-meaty, which made up for the spinach dip. My son had the Chicken Breaux Bridge, which was delicious, and a good amount. My husband had the Honey Island Chicken Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, as well. We paid over $7.00 for 2 glasses of iced tea, which I found kind of high-priced, seeing how inexpensive tea actually costs, and it wasn't even flavored tea. Overall, I will return, but only when I have an abundance of cash on hand. For 3 people, 3 entres, 2 teas, 1 Diet Coke, and 1 appetizer, our tab was $125, counting the tip. The service was merely adequate. I purchased a $50 gift certificate and after bringing me the receipt, I read an insert that said every $100 in gift certificates gets a bonus $25 gift certificate. Had the server informed me, I would have happily purchased 2 gift certificates, totalling $100, to have the extra $25 one. But, she didn't, and I was just so disappointed that I was simply ready to leave, so I didn't...
