Been there twice. Food is not great. It's only ok. Maybe we are not ordering the right thing. I will never be back but not because of the food. It is because of the staff. I took my daughter here on a Friday night after a high school football game. To begin with, for the first 30-45 minutes that we were there our waitress was MIA. She came once brought drinks and then we didn't see her again for a long time. I had to go to the bar to get a soda because the one she brought to me was gross. Still, this wasnt the biggest problem. Apparently, employees who are not on the clock like to hang out at the restaurant. After fmy daughter and I ordered appetizers, we went to the restroom to wash our hands. I happened to notice a young lady who walked in and went into the stall. When she was finished, she walked straight out the bathroom. She did NOT wash her hands. We walked out right behind her, only to find that she walked straight in the kitchen!! The kitchen manager was standing right there..now, of course he didn't know that she didn't wash her hands after using the restroom. ...so I informed him of what was going on. She saw me complain. A few minutes later the girl who didn't wash her hands and a waitress that was obviously on the clock (she had her uniform on and I saw her serving tables etc.) were walking together. The employee who was off the clock (the one who didn't wash her hands) walks up to my table and just looks at me then walks away. The other employee (the one on the clock) walks behind the bar (which was right in front of our table - we were facing the bar watching tv) and proceeds to tell the bartender what happened while staring us down. I did contact the manager, and he assured me that the situation was taken care of - and tells me that he is pretty sure the off the clock employee had left. At that point I didn't even want food from that place. We all know that people who work together end up being friends, and God only knows what they would do to our food. In the spirit of cooperation we ordered after the manager promised that there wouldn't be a problem. I wanted to believe him. He was very professional and polite. However, just the thought made me sick. I ended up throwing all the food away when I got home (we didn't really eat the food while we were there - we were ready to go....this while ordeal made it take so long to get food that we weren't even hungry anymore besides bei by grossed out!) I would have possibly given them another chance if my only problem had been that the food wasnt great, but after that whole ordeal I will never be back. That girl would probably be working and remember us! ALL involved in that charade should be FIRED!!! By no means should any customer ever be intimidated and talked about in front of their face for make a valid complaint. Very unprofessional. We were so very uncomfortable after that....

The food came out quick and most everyone was satisfied. I had the surf&turf burger and even added bacon... didn't impress me. I subbed the stuffed potato for the waffle fries... $1.49 more for half a potato! Laughable. The food generally lacks any distinctive flavor other than salt. Daughter loved the crawfish ettto-way. My wife had the Voodoo Shrimp and here's the kicker... wait for it... not one tootkpick, but two toothpicks left in her last shrimp. Photo included! 1/13/2018 Second visit to this chain, first time in Covington. We were seated quickly on a Saturday for lunch. The hostess accommodated us changing our seating to a booth. Cherylyn took our drink order and when asked about her recommendations, she pointed out the menu items that already had stars by them. We ordered the Devil's Shrimp appetizer, and two entrées; the Mardi Gras Mahi and Blackened Chicken sandwich, both starred items. The appetizer came out and looked fantastic... but the salt content was overwhelming! We literally had to order extra waters while we watched each other's faces turn red with high blood pressure. Then we scanned the crowd to play a little game of... "who has the reddest face!" If that wasn't enough... on the last shrimp my mouth was pierced by the two pieces of toothpick left in the fried shrimp appetizer (see photos.) My wife's Mahi was just as salty and the dish was actually garnished with season salt... again... see photos. I ate my chicken sandwich with a fork and knife due to its height, but there were more bites without chicken than with chicken. The waffles fries were also over-salted and we spent the remainder of our time here making jokes... like... Walk-Ons? ...should be Salt-Ons! I try real hard to give positive reviews, but sometimes it's hard. Spoke to the waitress about the toothpick and expected to hear from the manager... but nothing. Unfortunately, we forgot the gift card at home... so we'll be back and least once more. Anybody wanna buy...
Read moreA party of 5 went to Walk Ons in Covington, La. We sat in a booth by the bar. I told a waitress that there was a small nail sticking out of the wood underneath the table on the seat, she said she would take care of it and wandered off. The place was empty on mothers day. I guess Mothers don't like Walk-Ons on Mothers day. We were seated and then we placed our order. Which was 1 catfish plate, a fried shrimp plate, a strawberry pecan salad, a very dry chicken pasta dish and a bowl of cold gumbo without any meat in it for my granddaughter. I hate to complain about a restaurant that I always supported in the past, NOT any more! I have pictures to prove my complaint and my receipt. I took pictures because it was mothers day. We were served burned hush puppies. I told the waiter that we would like 8 new hush puppies in place of the 8 burned ones. 4 came on the catfish plate and 4 came on the shrimp plate. He came back and told us that the cook said that they were only burned on the outside and the inside was okay to eat. lol I held my breath and said to him bring us 8 that are not burned at all. The waiter left and came back with 5 fresh ones on a saucier and not the 8 hush puppies we already paid for. We were charged for an order of 5 hush puppies. I did not notice the charge until after I got home. He even took the burned ones. How sad is that? So check your receipts if you go there. REMEMBER: That there are far to many newer restaurants that will love your business and especially on Mothers day. 2 grandmothers, 1 mother, 1 granddaughter and 1 grandfather were sitting at this table. We still tipped our waiter but never again. He forgot about us by staying out of sight for over half the time. Walk-ons better get the owner in there or they will be going out of business in the future. I'll will...
