While Arby's is never my go-to fast food, on occasion I crave their Beef & Cheddar. Currently they hooked me in with the Diablo Dare, so my wife and I visited on a Saturday afternoon to give it a try.
Like a number of reviewers have mentioned, it's easy to miss this location. I think it's partly because it sits kind of far back off the road. It also doesn't look like your traditional Arby's. I'm pretty sure this location was something else before it was an Arby's.
So we visited on this Saturday afternoon and the front half of the dining room was blocked off by chairs and we were the only customers in the restaurant. My wife ordered a regular roast beef, I got the Diablo Dare Roast Beef.
This Arby's location feels a bit...run down and tired. Like I said before, I'm pretty sure this location hasn't lived its entire life as an Arby's, and its age shows. The staff does a great job keeping it clean and organized, but the dated facility isn't helping.
On this Saturday afternoon I have to question the music that was being played in the restaurant. It was very heavy metal. In the 30 or so minutes we were there it was a constant barrage of dark, heavy beats and screaming vocals. Not the kind of thing you normally hear in a fast food establishment.
The staff we've encountered on our visits has been kind of hit-or-miss. One one visit a gentleman was standing at the counter, greeted us pleasantly, took our order, and was great. On our most recent visit a young lady was standing in the drive thru, looked right at us, and looked away. We stood there several minutes before we were addressed.
Our food delivery time was less than ten minutes (back to us being the only customers) and the food was delivered hot and awesome.
Let's talk about the Diablo Dare for a minute. The first two bites were spicy, but well within my tolerance. Then, as I got further into it the very much spicier it got. And then, Ka-BLAM WHOA, holy spicy!!! A lot of fast food chains don't do spicy as well as they think they do, but Arby's absolutely killed it with this one! I think I went through the Dr. Pepper® refills to extinguish that fire!
Shortly before we were done the manager (Dennis) came over to tell us that we'd need to let them know when we were ready to go. They were closing the dining room because they were short staffed...no problem.
I do have one complaint when it comes to Arby's, but it's not directed at this location. Apparently Arby's - across the entire company - discontinued potato cakes during the pandemic. That makes for Sad Jim. But everything...
Read moreWe just left an Arby's location (6216 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY) and had the most awful and insulting experience we have ever had with any fast food restaurant.
My wife and I stopped to get food after a long night. We had our 10 year old son in the car with us. We pulled up and the lady greeted us with the normal greeting. We looked at the menu and went to order about 10 seconds later and got no response. We repeatedly said hello, ready to order, and is anyone there for the next 3-4 minutes.
The lady finally gets back on and tells us the computer went down and she couldn't hear us for a couple minutes. My wife responded that we were trying to order during those last couple minutes.
The lady on the speaker proceeded to get very irate and stating that she told us that the f*ing computers went down and then the mic was shut off.
We asked again if we could order and some guy got on and said something unintelligible twice. I think it was thank you have a good day. Basically dismissing us. He never shut his mic off though.
We waited and proceeded to here all kinds off explicit and abusive language from the open mic from the lady who was originally on the mic. There were a couple others there and we could hear them laughing and joining the fing btch, fing ahole, half a mind to kick her fing a comments. Never once did anyone try to calm her down, diffuse the situation, nor show quality customer concern and service.
We actually started recording what we were hearing over the mic. The guy who dismissed us then came out to take out the trash. We shouted to get his attention and let him know his mic was open and we heard everything and all he said was have a good night and basically dismissed us again as he went back in and then turned off his mic. And yes, he saw my 10 year old son in the back seat as he walked by but he didn't care.
We left and I decided to make this post. I could post the recordings but didn't think they were appropriate. This isn't the first issue we have had at this location. But it is certainly the worst and most appalling...

The restaurant is disgusting and literally falling apart. The employees have attitude and avoid doing their job at all costs. I have never left a review until today because my experience was BEYOND unacceptable. I arrived at the drive thru speaker (with no one else in line) and asked if I minded holding for a moment. No problem. 15 minutes later I had to ask if I should come in to order because the people in line behind me were assuming it was my fault and cussing me out. Someone eventually took my order. A simple order 4 regular roast beef sandwiches add cheddar cheese to all four. I get charged for that. My receipt reflects that, I get home and there is no cheese on any of them. It a big deal, except I paid $3.99 extra for the cheese and spent 35 minutes just to get “fast food”. I go back up and the doors are locked because they’re closing 4 hours early. I sneak in when a customer is leaving through one of the doors and ask for someone to make my correct order. The manager is mad and literally throwing things in the back because they had already put stuff up for the day. Not my fault did execute this order the right way the first time around. I understand working in food service can be stressful, I’ve done it, but if you do not like your job quit. And if your employees are worthless fire them. As their manager they are making your life harder. There were two girls working with the manager this day (one is new and just stands around) and the other is dismissive, rude and lazy. I have watched her ignore customers and run to the back. Fire her and get your manager into anger management. Better yet, just tear that dilapidated building down and we can all drive to Mt Washington or Breckenridge lane for out...
