We should have gone to Roadhouse... The 15 minute wait at this place should have been a sign we should have waited elsewhere.
Not a server to be found, but we were seated by someone not really happy to be there, and she took our drink order and gave our menus. She brought it out... the wrong tea (unsweetened). Then all (and I mean all) of the servers suddenly appeared out of nowhere and checked on their tables while we were still looking over the menu.
We had our tea corrected by our server but needed to make our decision. Ten minutes later, our drinks were empty and we were ready to order. We ordered the burgers. He went to put our order in and had to to flag him down to get our drinks refilled, he brought out the wrong tea again (unsweetened).
Some time later, still waiting. I used a Facebook check-in to start a timer. 45 minutes rolled by since we checked in and we had to remind that we needed the right tea and he disappeared again. I think we saw the next table's server more often to where we could flag him down to ask to see our server.
Our server brought out (the right) drinks and said, "your dinner is almost ready, we are waiting on someone to butter your corn on the cob and your dinner will be right out. (really?!)
Now now, more waiting, they bring out our dinner, without corn, and we checked our dinner. Mine had tomato (was requested to not have one because of food allergy). Both were ice cold, the corn finally made it to the table, and we let our server know that both of our burgers were ice cold and mine had the (food allergy) tomato on it.
We started eating the street corn, mine was scalding hot in places, and his was cold in places and hot in others. We were both starving at this point, drinks empty, food cold (and hot and cold and hot) and still in front of us. As my husband is hypoglycemic and I am diabetic, we were close to being a medical issue.
We finally had a manager bring out our food (no longer hungry at this point) and she apologized while we checked our food and notified her that our drinks were empty again. They offered us a dessert, and as I am diabetic, and lactose intolerant, we declined.
We "finished" our meal mostly in disappointment. We got comp'd for the meal, but we don't go to restaurants to get comp'd. We go there for good food, good service and an atmosphere we enjoy.
Two hours later, we left, mostly unfulfilled as the food was "Just Okay". We both agreed we should have gone to Roadhouse, endured the two hour wait, enjoyed the Legendary Food, Legendary Service (not a plug, the stores speak for themselves) and would have walked out of a restaurant with full bellies, good spirits and not wondering what is in the...
Read moreI have never had a worse dining experience that I have here this evening. The waitress brought the wrong drink, swore that it was correct, and then said she would make the "sweet tea" sweeter. How is that possible when it comes prepaid. She finally brought back the drink 15 minutes later and there indeed was sweet tea and mango in the drink this time. We were ready to order and we didn't see her for another 20-25 minutes. She was no where to be found. When she eventually arrived, she took the order and when the food came out, it was lukewarm. My boyfriends fries were missing and she lied and saud that the cooks were out and dropped some more in the fryer. That was a blatant lie, as she brought them back literally two minutes later and brought soggy fries that were obviously sitting under a heating lamp. My boyfriend is a professional chef and knows what he is talking about. My best friend and I ordered a 2 for 25 meal that included a dessert and she completely forgot about that. I'm not a confrontational person by any means, but I finally got up and had to go find her and ask her refills on drinks and tell her to bring the dessert, please. We waited longer and I got up again and asked her to bring the drinks and dessert to go. When we thought the nightmare was over, we paid the bill on the payment device on the table because we sure weren't coming back, she then came back and told us that we hadn't paid the bill, eventhough we had a screen shot of the picture he took showing that we had. She then said oops! She forgot to put the right payment device on the right table, so we paid for someone else's meal that wasn't there anymore. I assumed that it was her last victim's that said f**k this and left. We had to sit there longer and have her manager figure out what happened. She never brought the drink refills with her with the cheesecake and a regular cup of diet, which I'd asked for to go. We called the manager and voiced our nightmare and asked for a complete refund of the 52.00 "meal" that we were victims of and he said that he would give us a 20.00 gift card. I guarantee you that the 20.00 gift card with gather dust in our house because we are never, ever going back. I can't remember the waitresses name, but she was a small blonde and she wore her hair up in a few parts looking like horns. If you feel like eating food that had been hanging out in the kitchen, being lied to and treated like an idiot, this is definitely the place for your. Never...
Read moreWe came in for an early lunch to get some baby back ribs, that Chili's is known for. There was nobody to greet us at the front door. After a few minutes, the waiter came and sat us at our table. We received our drinks and our menus. I had requested my side salad before my dinner. We had to remind the waiter to bring it. All the vegetables on the side salad were diced and piled on top of the iceberg lettuce. I'm not sure how you ruin a side salad, but I guess that's one way to do it. You couldn't even eat it with a fork, if I had been given one. Our main dish arrived. It was brought out to us by the kitchen staff. I had baby back ribs and mashed potatoes fully loaded. When the girl from the kitchen asked us if there was anything else we needed, we told her, "Yeah, we need utensils and napkins. We had nothing to eat our food with. The ribs were okay. Not the best i've ever eaten. I ordered my ribs dry rub. That's what I prefer. Everything was hot and fresh. The ribs might have been a little overdone. It wasn't a very busy lunch crowd.Only a few people, but our waiter seemed stretched beyond his limit. RECOMMENDATION FOR STAFF APPEARANCE: in accordance with chili's employee Handbook. " men should be clean shaven, or have neatly trimmed facial hair " I'm not blaming our waiter because no one is enforcing this, but there was nothing neatly trimmed about him. Overall, the restaurant was clean and the food was hot and fresh. I can't say. I will never return to Chili's, but it would be a very, very long time before I try it again. Maybe even...
