I have waited to right a review hoping the bad experience was just a temporary thing. However, after a month of bad experiences it doesn't appear to be improving, but getting worse.
The only thing we get there are blizzards, and I would say 20% of the time they don't get the order correct, and 75% of the time the blizzards aren't full - not even close to being full. If it wasn't for the fact that I had waited so long in line to begin with I would have them add more to fill them up.
The speed of service has never been great, and has now gotten to the point that it's ridiculous. Friday night there were 2 cars ahead of me and it took 15 minutes before I was able to place my order. It was another 20 minutes before I pulled away with my food. 35 minutes! And not so much as an apology for the wait. We went their Sunday night, and saw a backup at the drive through so I went inside hoping it would be faster. There were 3 people who had ordered and were still waiting for their food, and one person who was still waiting to order. They all looked upset and no one even acknowledged that myself and the other person who had yet to order were even there. We both just left.
Even before they were short staffed the service was very slow. And none of the workers ever appeared to be in any hurry to get orders out. It all comes down to management, and that is sorely lacking. We lived in MN for 14 years and the DQ we went to always had at least 5 people just filling ice cream orders, plus others working the grill and registers. I never had to wait long, the blizzards were always over the top of the cup, and they hardly ever got an order wrong. In the 2 years we've lived here I have yet to find a DQ that comes close to the DQ's they have in MN.
And one last note, we always get chocolate ice cream, and it's surprising how often their chocolate ice cream machine is either broken or taken down at their peak times for cleaning. I guarantee they don't do that with the vanilla machine. If you are going to offer different flavors have...
Read moreI gave them a one star only bc the system won't let me give a zero rating. Ordinarily we swing through drive in for Blizzard only. DH wanted a Heath Bar Blizzard, I also ordered burgers for myself and DH. Got home and the bacon cheeseburger with no tomatoes and onions was no cheese, no condiments and a half inch sliver of bacon. Meat Patty was the consistency of beef jerky. The medium Heath Bar Blizzard was a small Rocky Road style Blizzard. Additionally I would up waiting approximately 15-20 min for my order. We aren't terribly happy here at the house. đ€ Definitely double check your order before you leave the drive through window.
**A follow up. Apparently there have not been lasting improvement in this location. DH went through the drive through yesterday. The burger he ordered (Blaze?) was so covered in a mystery sauce he was losing structural integrity of the sandwich. I asked for a bacon cheeseburger with no onions or tomatoes. I had no onions, no tomatoes and no bacon. Additionally the burger patties continued to be the consistency of beef jerky. Problem was the beef jerky burger I had this time was cold in the center. We will return for Blizzards on the days yall are fundraising for Norton Children Hospital. Otherwise, that's it we no longer have interest in Dairy Queen as a routine part...
Read moreMy son works at this restaurant. He shall go unnamed because of all the negative feedback. First of all, the average wait at their store is 3 minutes. If that is bad, then you shouldn't go to fast food stores. Second, fries last on average in the warmer about 7minutes. That means every seven minutes, they have to throw away food and waste money. Cold fries? They replace them at no cost. And they know/understand how hard it is to keep fries hot. Third, the store hours on the website are not universal for ALL DairyQueens. That is decided by the owner for each store. And 90% of the time, the owner isn't even working threre. Wrong orders? People seem to think that their order is the only one. Truth is that there are anywhere from $25-$700 going through the store at a time. And this particular store is notoriously shorthanded. It takes about 10-12 people to run a store, and this one has bout 5 or 6. Finally,if you cannot have patience with them, and listen t them, and know they try their hardest, then of course they're gonna be "rude" as they say. They're rude to you because you're rude to them. Cooperation with them makes it ten times easier. Bigger orders take longer to fill, and thus if you order $56 worth of treats don't expect it out in under...
