My wife, three year old son, and I thought we would give this restaurant a second chance after having slow service during our previous experience. Unfortunately, things were worse this time. My wife ordered the pepaya salad from their specials menu. After receiving the salad and taking her first bite, she noticed that there was dried shrimp in the salad. We notified the waitress that we were unaware that shrimp would be in the salad and kindly asked if they could remake it without the shrimp. The waitress responded by saying she did mention the shrimp. Without laying blame, we simply asked if they could remake it and the waitress was hesitant to do so. She took the salad away and returned to inform us that because my wife already touched it, they would have to charge us for two items if they remake it. At this point, we were getting irritated and of course refused. Instead we asked to remove it from our bill as we didn't eat the dish and obviously no longer want it. Again, she was hesitant in responding, insisting they would still charge us anyway, even though we said we do not want to be charged for something we didn't eat. She walked away saying she would try. She never mentioned it again so we assumed she took it off the bill. My son's food and my food arrived however my wife's food did not arrive until my son and I were almost finished with our meals. We noticed people around us we also waiting for long periods of time for their orders. After receiving our check, we noticed that she did in fact still charge us for the salad. A restaurant that doesn't value it's customers or do anything to ensure that they retain our business is shockingly unacceptable. There are better places to eat. They will not be getting any further...
Read moreUh-Oh!!! Watch out Louisville - there's a new Sushi restaurant in town and it's pretty darn AWESOME!!!! Daisuki just opened on Bardstown Road so me and the boy decided to give it a try - SUPER glad we did as they're doing it right. Servers are extremely friendly, helpful and have a great attitude, the decor is subtle and welcoming, everything is clean and fresh.
There are some interesting and different types of sushi and sashimi as you would expect and of course, all the favorites but there are also some great additions... Pad thai, Red Curry and a range of other Asian treats that are well worth popping in for.
I let my son order as he's the Japanese expert and he went straight for a steak Bento box. Both he and I were very impressed! Large serving of quality meat, veg tempura (which was delicious), Gyoza, California rolls, PERFECTLY streamed rice and choice of Miso or salad.
I couldn't resist the Pad Thai which was sweet, filling and perfectly cooked. Added a bit of homemade Chilli oil and BOOM - amazing. We also grabbed a Dragon roll and you could TASTE the freshness - melt in the mouth avocado...TASTY!
Pricing was reasonably cheap too - We are all seeing the increases more and more lately but Daisuki has great portions of amazing foods with the average "Special rolls" at about $12 and general entree at $13 - 15.
EVEN BETTER is their lunch menu!! Check the pics - $12 is a BARGAIN!
Finally, they've only been open for a few days so the staff are learning the ropes with the service & POS etc but I definitely recommend you all check this...
Read moreI would love to see your CCT camera that allows you to hear the conversation between me and the waitress bc if that was the case and it is loud enough for you to hear then I would have heard it as well. The change in spice level was a simple request if it was going to be remade. It was not the reason we asked for it to be remade. We would have happily taken the remade dish, minus the shrimp, at the same spice level. We do not enjoy leaving bad reviews, but it is unacceptable that you charged us for a dish we did not consume. Any other restaurant would have willingly removed the item from the bill since it was an honest mistake. We did not enter your restaurant to take advantage of you nor did we expect to be taken advantage of and treated poorly. Your last remark could absolutely be considered racist and offensive, so I hope future patrons read these these comments before supporting an establishment like yours. At the end of the day, life goes on and hope in the future, you treat everyone like you would hope...
