Danny Mac's Pizza - Mellwood — Restaurant in Louisville

The food is incredible. I ordered takeout online which was seamless. The only complaint I have is that when I called the phone number, a man picked up the phone and he was EXTREMELY rude to me. I tried asking some simple questions like if I could swap tomato sauce on the pizza for white sauce, only to have the dude YELL at me: "WE DON'T DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT. ORDER WHATS ON THE MENU." But all he had to do was tell me, we have white sauces (like ranch) but only for the menu items listed, or something of the sort. I hung up and ordered online. I'll probably order online again and I will NEVER show up into the restaurant because of this one absolutely awful experience having to speak with such a rude employee. I tipped the delivery guy 20% but I would tip 0% if I came into the restaurant. I don't think you understand how much this employee upset me and I hope that he got fired for being rude. This was an order from around Sept 7, 2024. Again, excellent food, delivery was on time, food was hot. But that one conversation with the rude employee was well worth complaining about. Been here before and this visit was no different, excellent. My wife and I love their pizza and the beer prices. Service was fast and cheerful. If you go early enough, afterwards you can walk around the art center and still catch some of the vendors open. At least you can view the art on display. Parking is getting tighter on the upper lot due to construction but there is still plenty of space across Mellwood in the larger lot. My 10/2023 update: Still the best Pizza in Louisville as far as I'm concerned. We still go and get a 12' Veggie, couple of beers and sit outside in the breezeway and people watch. Last week we just tried for the first time, BREAD STICKS, oh my. I should have taken a picture but too hungry and forgot. Covered with Parm and floating in garlic butter. We both loved them and will be back for another round. As we sat enjoying the bread sticks we couldn't help but notice on a Friday evening how many more bread stick orders showed up on tables around us. The word is out and I'm just a late comer. Our family LOVES this place. If you are looking for a good and honest delicious pizza this is the place to go. I stumbled upon their pizza working an event and brought some home. At 2 in the morning I insisted that my wife try a bite of this pizza. Simple one topping sausage. Honestly not my go to for pizza toppings, especially if going with a one topping. But, man..it's good. Anyway, my wife came out and took a bite and after her second bite she said; we need to go here this week. We did two days later and the pizza,again, was awesome. We have introduced the place to several other family and friends and everyone is like...this is good stuff.

First time ordering get the crack sticks..just get them. We tend to go with the basic toppings...pepperoni, sausage etc, but their vegi is one of our favorites. Their bbq is also very good. Just tried that last pickup and would buy again.

Staff has always been on point and easy to get along with.
