Completely inaccessible. I understand it’s a historical building but there has to be a better way. The ADA still applies to historic buildings- they are simply required to use alternatives. Appreciate the sign outside but this was not acceptable. We had to carry my 10 year old daughter in her wheelchair up the stairs- if she had not had strong adults with her, or someone is by themself- this is completely inaccessible. Please do better.

Accessibility should not be contingent on relying on employees answering the phones on a busy Friday night. People have additional needs as well as mobility and they may not be able to make that type of a phone call.
I saw this response as we were eating, and went to the employees to ask them to use the elevator on the way down. It was incredibly complicated to get to, at times required a code, and the walk was about three minutes total. I feel certain that if you tried harder to get a ramp, that you would be able to get one. I would be very interested in who denied the installation of a ramp and would be happy to write a letter and to appeal to the city if there is a company that is denying routine accessibility needs in...
Read moreI tried three flavors, including two samples from a most hospitable hostess/store clerk, who'd immediately greeted me upon arrival. All three were heavy hitters. Great signage and service. The ice cream: Elegant, velvet mouth feel. Exceptional vanilla. Non-bitter chocolate. Heavenly bourbon option with personality!
Another local parlor: Strange flavor, especially the French vanilla's finish. And texture was off and a bit icy.
Also icy at the shop up the road: The service. No greeting upon arrival. And, though no other customer was behind me, I was curtly instructed that I had to go to the other side to order, which I did -- then had to repeat the order to the one at the register who'd directed me to place the order at the counter by the entrance.
Fantastic job to the Ehrler's team! You KO'd the...
Read moreGreat ice cream shop. I tried some Ehler's ice cream while being at the Louisville Convention Center. It is apparently pretty popular with the locals, and for good reason. I tried the cookies and cream ice cream, just one scoop.
It was quite good. The portion is fine for the price (which is a little high). The employees were friendly when serving me as well. It was made quickly and the wait wasn't long.
Flavor-wise, nice and creamy. They added a great amount of cookies in there. Not the most inventive menu, but they do make good classic ice cream.
All in all, a nice spot to check out on a hot day. The service is efficient, the flavors are good, and the prices are little high but they give you...
