Writing this makes me so sad considering we stay here every year when my husbands baseball team plays the Louisville Bats and we usually have a great experience. Today we had issues with our a/c not working and leaking water which soaked the carpet and our belongings. When I brought the concern to who was working the front desk they were very impatient and rude not even letting me speak. My husband called back and he was just as rude and impatient with him as well. The manager, Ellen, came up to check on the a/c and tried to explain to me that the a/c was turning off on its own because it is āmotion censoredā. When it came to the water leaking, she was asking questions implying that maybe we were the reason the a/c was broken. Many other of my husbands coworkers and their wives that are staying in this same hotel have had horrible issues with their a/c as well. We have been here since Tuesday and leave Sunday. Instead of apologizing and reassuring longtime customers, she definitely had a passive aggressive type of attitude. I told her my issue with the front desk and she did not once apologize for her employees and the way they handled the phone call. Not that it is her fault her employees are rude, but she seemed to not care at all about the way we were treated. I decided to ask the maintenance man if the a/c units were motion censored because I was feeling horrible about making a complaint but he confirmed they were not, letting me know the manager was lying. This goes to show that management was not trying to take accountability for the issues they have regarding the rooms. My husbands belongings got soaking wet from the dripping of the a/c through the night leaving some things damaged. I then asked her if we would be discounted for the issues and inconvenience and she claimed to āsee what she could doā and I still have not heard back. With that being said maintenance, his name is Michael, was the most kind person I have dealt with today. He was very eager and quick to fix the issue for me, reassuring me that the issue was not caused by us. He made us feel comfortable and at ease knowing the issue came from in house and for me not to worry. Michael is definitely the nicest person I have been in contact with regarding this issue. He explained he was worried at first because the manager explained how āupsetā I was and to have the issue fixed asap, when I was more upset with how we were treated than the issue with the a/c itself. I hope this hotel staff, including the manager, Ellen, strives to be better. The attitudes and passive aggression was truly uncalled for. With that being said, to the manager, maybe treat your customers with respect and maybe they wonāt be āmadā when explaining an issue that causes THEM inconvenience. When someone is speaking to you try looking them in the eyes and not down at your phone as well. Remember that your customers are paying your establishment, not the other way around.
Thank you Michael for everything!! God bless your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJoseph at the front desk offered impeccable service during Memorial Day Weekend. Joseph was incredibly helpful and kind.
My friend and I were visiting from out of town for the Gazebo music festival at Waterfront Park and did not know a lot about the immediate area we were in. Joseph offered wonderful tips for restaurants, parking, and activities in the area. Joseph was also very patient in answering our questions about how to navigate the area.
Because of Josephās kind and helpful spirit, we genuinely had less stress throughout the weekend. We were worried about a significant scheduling conflict and Josephās character and ability to problem solve gave us so much hope. Because Joseph offered his kindness and empathy, we felt so much more at ease.
He truly helped us feel at peace and have an enjoyable weekend. We felt right at home because of his warm spirit and fun personality. Joseph set an amazing standard for how hotel staff should be. Not only because of his excellent service but because of his humanity. We both couldnāt stop talking about how incredible Joseph is as a person. He clearly has a remarkable persona and equally a remarkable work ethic and passion for what he does.
My friend and I travel a lot and plan on returning to Louisville soon. We will definitely be staying at and recommending the Cambria Hotel Louisville Downtown-Whiskey Row mainly because of our pleasant experiences with Joseph this weekend.
Please highly consider giving Joseph a well-deserved bonus in addition to a thank you. Especially because I can see from other reviews that he continuously gets excellent feedback based on performance and integrity. He is clearly and consistently a fantastic employee and person.
Additionally the staff at the Jackdaw Coffee Bar downstairs were lovely and wonderful humans too. They were full of energy and had friendly vibes even in the early morning. We had big food orders that they patiently took. They helped us navigate dietary restrictions and offered great and safe recommendations.
The food, coffee, and tea were all delicious; some of the best hotel breakfast food Iāve ever had.
Overall the property is very clean, organized, and comfortable. The staff are excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to mention the staff first! Specifically the staff that worked overnight on 6/20/25. We had been outside in the blistering heat for 4 hours after driving for 2 to set up as vendors at a local festival. We arrived to chrck in with melted brains and almost heat exhaustion. We parked went inside and needed to sit in the lobby to cool down before checking in. The staff member by the name of ā rwilsonā immediate notice the state of myself. Left the desk to check to on us. Offered to help anyway to cool us down. We just needed to checked in, shower and jug some ice water! She made sure to check us in fast, explain things multiple times as we were having trouble understanding basic things (due to the heat), and made sure we knew who the other staff were incase we did need help! Truely made our first impression top notch!
Once we got on our room, which was very cleans and I mean even the usual dust collectors were spotless! We finally were able to relax! The only reason we didnāt have 5 stars for the room is we were in an accessibility room and the tub is so slippery that I (someone that is on the more mobile end of disabled) was having trouble not slipping around in the tub! We tried a towel in the bottom of it too, but it really didnāt help. I understand itās hard to keep the tub grips clean or even clean appearing (the tend to discolor even when clean) but it is a liability issue! Especially for more disabled people than myself! Also the showers handle was ducked taped, wasnāt able to hold the weight of hand held part at all other then at the bottom, the drain was loose and came out and I tripped on it. And the handled facet leaked very cold water pretty bad when set to shower head only mode. Other than that the room was perfect!
I didnāt experience any of the amenities, as we were outside again for 12 hours the next day. But the fact that they actually allow you to cool your room to colder temperatures is amazing! Many hotels never let you go below 72-75 degrees. The parking lot did cause some anxiety but thatās really understandable with being downtown, and a converted place. I would highly recommend this hotel!!
Also check out was a breeze and very pleasant! Thank you for such a...
