UPDATE:. Upon recent visits to this KFC location I have had positive experiences. I can go into the store again and my orders have been correct and the original recipe chicken has tasted excellent. I'm quite impressed with the work that has been done to improve the quality of the food and service at this location. In the last 2 months I have been there nine times after not visiting for nearly a year because of poor service and food quality. Kudos to the staff who have made improvements to the food and service at this location and to the KFC administration who has supported and encouraged improvement to the quality at this location on Breckenridge Lane at Taylorsville Road. UPDATE: I suggest you check your order for accuracy when receiving it and before driving away. I enjoy original recipe and used to stop by this KFC frequently; however, I experienced about a 70% accuracy rate of my order - either receiving the wrong side or dark meat rather than white meat. Often I would forget to check my food order before driving away. The mistakes were so frequent I stopped frequenting KFC during the winter months. I went back this week and again I received dark meat rather than white meat and the wrong side. I understand occasional mistakes but 70% accuracy rate is just unacceptable.
The food was delicious for KFC. My dining experience, however, was not enjoyable. Approximately 7:30 pm, I ordered the 3-piece combo dinner Original recipe and asked for a breast, along with my green beans, coleslaw and biscuit. Regardless, my meal was two thighs and a leg, which are dark meat. I don't enjoy dark meat, but I do not like wasting food and did not want to return my order to have the three pieces thrown out. Reluctantly accepting the dark meat, my dining experience was made even less pleasurable because of the loud music emanating from the sound system speakers, which sounded more like club music than easy-going middle-of-the-road dinner music. A dance drum beat along with lyrics "baby you can't have this" were not on my menu for listening while trying to enjoy eating dinner at KFC. I went to KFC because I wanted the Colonel's original recipe. KFC is the only place I know where I can get the Colonel's original recipe chicken. If I had wanted more upbeat club type music I would have chosen a different establishment. As I was eating dinner, an employee taped a notice on the front and side doors explaining dine-in would be closed due to registers not working and directed any potential customer to go through the drive-thru. I would think if registers weren't working then that would include drive-thru. I suspect the restaurant was short-staffed. Adequately reliable staff seems to be a problem not only for KFC but for many fast food style restaurants. I wish corporations would get a better handle on this issue of adequate staffing. I suspect I will only return to this KFC if I am absolutely craving the Colonel's original recipe and cannot find...
Read moreI recently paid a trip to this location (largely because I absolutely refuse to go to the KFC on Blankenbaker) to get dinner to take home. I know it's relatively new building, so I thought it'd be nice to see the inside.
When I walked in I was the only customer in the building, so I was was able to place my order immediately. The young lady behind the counter helped me make a decision to take advantage of a current promotion and I paid for my food. For me it's fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, and cole slaw. Of the fast food chicken cole slaws out there, KFC gets my vote as the best. As far as the mashed potatoes and gravy, KFC loses that to Popeye's.
The interior has a fresh, not-your-regular-KFC feel to it. It was warm and welcoming, yet didn't give up that "You're in a KFC" identity.
While I was getting drinks I heard them call out my order. WOW. I didn't expect to get the food that fast! Then again, at KFC 100% of nothing is made to order. It's just assemble the food and box it.
I was in the restaurant less than 10 minutes and then back out the door. The real challenge with this location is getting out the parking lot and making your way back home.
When I got home everything was just as I ordered it and tasted great!
Clean restaurant, fast...
Read moreDo the owners or managers here keep an eye on their employees at all? The employees here don’t want to actually do work at this store!! I’m pretty sure they do nothing and get paid. This has happened twice. The speaker was broken. Ok that’s fine, it happens but I sat there awhile and then finally drove up to the window to see if they were open. At this store, on Breckinridge Lane, if the lady at the drive thru waived her hand to come forward, you can see her. Nope! I pulled up and she was on her phone and looking at her very long nails. And just said, yeah it’s broken. Is it too much trouble to put a sign out? She said they were out of every single thing I wanted. Wasn’t even trying to help me get something different or part of what I wanted and actually interrupted me when I was asking bc she didn’t want to put her phone down. Then I drive around and two employees were outside smoking and talking only 25 minutes before closing. I’ve never taken a break literally right before closing. No wonder she said they didn’t have anything bc there was no one inside working. It’s a hit or miss whether anyone wants to...
