We've have ordered from this establishment for going on 7 or so years now, decent chinese food at a decent price, so the near hour wait time for delivery was tolerable. But over the past couple years the issues have just added up, to now. Every so often you will go on their website and place an order, and when checking out you will receive a confirmation and an order number after paying. Little do you know that if the restaurant is too busy at the time, your order will conveniently get "lost" or "not show up".
Tonight this happened to my husband and I, and after over an hour of waiting when we called, one of their employees looked up our address and told us that we are too far away(3.5 miles) for them to deliver... Since we've been ordering from them for the past 7 years we knew this was incorrect. Upon saying this the woman apologized and my husband hung up.
When I called back to inquire further, the employee ended up telling me that they in fact do deliver to us, but because they had "about 30 orders waiting now" that the distance(3.5 miles) was too far for them to deliver. When I asked her why she lied to me to begin with, she scrambled saying she didn't lie that she said what someone else had relayed to her, but in fact knew all along the real reason.
I went on to ask why the orders they had now mattered when I had placed the order and received confirmation over an hour ago. She continued to inform me that she has no control over the website and has no idea whether its working or not because it is ran out of china. I asked her what the other customers placing orders on their website without knowing they will never get their food are supposed to do? She couldn't answer this.
She told me that if I wanted to place my order now that they could deliver it but that it would take an hour or more before it arrived, I told her no of course because i had already waited over an hour from my first purchase, which she reminded me they never got. I informed her that she needed to be truthful upfront rather than lie, and that she would lose our business, and any other business we recommended to them (7 years of...
Read moreDon't be fooled by the exterior of Oriental Cafe - this unassuming establishment boasts some of the best Chinese food and sushi in Louisville. I order from them virtually every week, and when I come home from traveling, it's always my first stop. Their prices are extremely fair. -The crab Rangoon and accompanying sauce are probably the best I've ever had. -Their sushi is an extremely good deal (2 for $12 at lunch, but maybe only $1 more at dinner). I love it because the rolls are smaller and not overloaded with rice. I recommend the snow crab roll and the fancy salmon roll. Seriously, it's some of the best sushi in Louisville and so much cheaper than most places. -I'm in love with their seafood soup 🍲 I order it almost every week! Very filling and healthy. -Their crispy noodles that come with the soup are the good kind, not the kind from a can that you can get at Kroger. I love them. -I particularly love their protein with broccoli or with garlic sauce. The portions are all a good deal. If you're eating for one, try to get the lunch version because the dinner version will be enormous. -If you order a protein with hibachi, you don't need to add the protein again as a modification. If you do that, you'll get double of the protein. -Some of their other items, like the hibachi, are a bit on the sweet side. The two I mentioned above are less sweet. -I have placed orders with numerous modifications and they have never missed them or messed it up, not even once. -If you order to go directly on their website and not through a third party vendor, there is no extra charge.
I wish I could give Oriental Cafe a thousand stars. I am in love with their food and I don't know what I would do...
Read moreBest take out Chinese in Louisville. The food is always served fresh, hot and fast. The portions are huge! There are several other Chinese takeout places closer to my house but I will drive the extra miles to get food from Oriental Cafe. The hibachi chicken is my favorite. Just updating to say that this is still my favorite place to go for Chinese takeout. The owners there are so sweet and friendly Over the past 7 years I have discovered many new favorite dishes, that I honestly can’t pick just one. I don’t think there is probably anything on the menu that doesn’t taste great. The delivery drivers are always friendly and fast when they bring food to my place of employment. They recently have started doing catering and the office I work in has used it. Even with the all the large portions of entrees, lomein noodles, fried rice an appetizers, the food was hot, fresh and amazing, and arrived right at the time we asked for it to be. The delivery driver that brought all of the food was very friendly and helpful. And I love that I can also order from DoorDash to have it delivered...
