Honestly, this is the worst Kroger I have ever visited. That's unfortunate, because it's a neighborhood location. The incompetence of the pharmacy, in particular, caused me a huge amount of unnecessary trouble, and possible medical peril. I was never called about medicine ready to be picked up, as I was promised, nearly three hours after I left the prescription at the store, and after being told that I would be called. I called before closing, and was told it was (and had been ready earlier) but I must hurry before closing. I hurried, but on arrival, found that my prescription was, in fact, not ready, and nowhere near being ready. I was then insulted further being told that it may not be ready before closing. The pharmacist rudely walked away from me, while I was still talking to her, concerned about needing my medicine, showing she was not interested in my concern or helping in any way. The counter employee tried to excuse the situation by telling me they were too short staffed to get everything done. I told her that customers should be informed of such shortcomings, so they can make informed decisions about going elsewhere, but she had also had nothing to say about, instead only stating at me. I informed store personnel (because I was told no manager in the store). Personel told me they have no control over the pharmacy, although numerous complaints about their pharmacy have occurred. I was told that I would receive a call from the manager the next day. Of course, no one ever called. To this day, no one has ever called. I left the store with no apology or good explanation from anyone, determined never to return to such a place apparently unconcerned about customers, particularly their medical needs. A solution and some satisfaction was found, only after calling Kroger's corporate office, speaking to the person actually in control of Kroger pharmacies in the region. If you have such trouble, my advise is to go ahead and call the corporate office. Skip the pharmacy, the pharmacist, and the store personnel who claim not to have control. That seems to be all that activates anyone to be concerned....
Read moreI usually have a decent experience here. However, yesterday I went to the Kroger floral dept to purchase roses. I was threatened and talked down to by Kellie the floral staff in front of my son. She should of called in because it was obvious she didn't want to be there. The customer before me she greeted and was beyond friendly towards (was it because he was caucasian). Um. I was severely mistreated and had not done anything other than show up to Krogers to buys goods. I have had bad service here before. However, Kellie in floral took the cake and was beyond unprofessional and unpredictable. She wanted me to argue with her, I simply walked away. I called management and asked them to pull tape. She said she would and would have Dave call me back. I have yet to hear back. Krogers may be a dangerous place, with all that has gone on there. Be careful, because some of the staff are just as unpredictable as the customers. I can say this because of the words she said to me. And no I did not provoke this woman. Lastly, the manager I spoke to said if she did do this...there is no of to it. My son talked brought the experience up about four times yesterday after it happened. Way...
Read moreMcMahan Plaza has a strip mall that fronts on Taylorsville Road and has a side entrance from narrow Hunsinger Lane. There is more to the Plaza on the opposite side of Hunsinger Lane as well. My favorite places there are Dollar Tree and Habitat ReStore. Habitat ReStore is addictive for DIY fixing - up, interior decorating, furnishing, crafting and hacking/making. Dollar Tree has all my munchies and goodies, and this store is sneaky because you don't easily realize that your purchase has reached some twenty dollars and more because everything is a dollar! But it's the only place I can get pork rinds! T. J. Maxx also helps with providing important foundation garments and fashions at a discount, but personally I would stick with the underwear. The rest is still a bit pricey for my taste.
There are a number of other good specialty shops that are worth checking out. And don't forget to check out the specialty things next to Kroger that face...
