In this economy, I was devastated when I realized my dryer wasn't working. And just like our generation does, I took to the internet for a cheap solution. According to my inexperienced brain, it was the cycling thermostat. So I called up Derby City Appliance, which was only 2 minutes from my home. The man who answered the phone was very nice and even told me the price. I drove up to the store and was greeted immediately. I told him I just spoke with him on the phone about a part. He asked me why I thought it was this part and I told him my embarrassing thought process. He grinned and walked over and grabbed a thermal fuse and placed it on the counter. "The cycling thermostats rarely go out. It's more than likely this." I thanked him profusely because he could have let me walk out of there with the incorrect part but he didn't. He also gave me a brief education on dryers and manufacturing. Where I would have spent a bunch of money to hire someone to come and fix it, I only spent $12.08. (Don't get me wrong. People who work in these trades deserve every dollar they charge and earn. I just didn't have it.) I am so appreciative of this business and the gentleman behind the counter. Called to order a ice maker on 7/20/20. They said it would be in on Thursday. When i called to check they then say its back ordered be 10 to 15 days. So i wait called back bout 2 weeks later still not in. I went in person to see whats going on come to find out they cant even find a invoice number for my order. The guy looks on the the computer for 10 15 mins tells me he found a place that he can get me one bu Thursday. But said the lady would call me Monday to let me know what they can do. Now its Monday lady calls me says its gonna me a minute before we can get an ice maker and just offered a refund never did she offer to get one from the other location that had 30 plus in stock, Like the guy had told me 3 days prier. So i asked if theirs a way to get one from the location and she just went crazy yelling at me telling me it would be 10 days before they could get it, and then saying the weather would delay it more. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. THEY ARE JUST RUDE. AND THEY THINK THERE THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN GET PARTS FROM. Just beware of this place . i wasted 2 1/2 weeks trying...

Upon entering this business my husband and I were not greeted. We had the part with us and the two employee’s that were behind the counter were arguing back and forth. The employee that waited on us didn’t say a word to us. My husband gave him the part we needed. The employee typed the part number in and then tossed the part on the counter to him. Still didn’t speak a word to us. Then the employee grabs a piece of paper and a pen and throws the pen on the counter. You could feel the tension in the place. I decided I couldn’t take the disrespect any longer and just turned around and walked out the door and didn’t say a word. I’ll spend my hard earned money somewhere else and won’t take the blatant disrespect my husband and I were given today. I’m truly surprised they’re still in business with the experience...
