I was highly disappointed in the service and food was mediocre. To give context, we were a walk in party of 6. We had reservations at Proof on Main which is next door but wanted to grab some highlights of the NCAA tournament. So we decided to go here and sit in the bar area. Mind you, the hostess was very sweet and was working to seat us in the main area (which was not crowded). However, given that we wanted to watch some of the game, we asked to sit in the bar area to which the hostess and manager quickly acknowledged was not a problem. Well....we should have allowed the hostess to seat us in the main area because it went downhill from there.... Our waiter/bartender (Brandon) was inattentive and in my opinion, rude. It took him 20 mins to acknowledge our table (no water, no menus, no place settings....nothing). Finally he came over to acknowledge us but instead of being greeted he asked if we had reservations. When we said no but we would be eating in the bar, he acted as though we were an inconvenience to him. After 10 more min of waiting, he drops off WATER and the menus off ....and leaves. No context on menu recommendations, specials, In the meantime, a table of 3 came in after us was given water, menus AND been served wine. He was their server too. Only when I approached the hostess stand to complain - and be moved, did he suddenly want to take our drink orders. Given that we had a 7PM show to attend, and by now were 40 min into a wait, we started ordering appetizers while we had his attention. When I asked to include a crab cake, he shrugged his shoulders as if to say "whatever". REALLY? Gets even better... My husband and I always share a larger filet cut so when I ordered for us he said "we won't be cutting your steak but will bring you a extra plate". OK....not a big deal, we CAN but SHOULD we have to at any reputable steak house for these prices? As we finalized our dinner order, I asked to order a different drink. He then basically raises his voice to tell me that the bar is too busy and he just "can't" right now. WHAT?!! In who's world does a server tell you that they won't take your order...as if I was the inconvenience. When our mains FINALLY arrived, half of the sides were cold and everyone received their steaks but my husband and I. After everyone was halfway eating their steaks, we finally asked the hostess to "remind him" that we hadn't gotten our steak. He yells "it's a larger steak, they're working on it". Why in the world would ANY steakhouse not plate the table at the same time? Needless to say, we began to eat our sides which were COLD and half cooked. We waited for our "Large" (12 ounce filet) steak to arrive only for it to be a 8 ounce filet.....the exact size as the other 3 steaks delivered to the table. When it was clear it was incorrect, he left (again I would expect him to communicate he was going to fix it but he just walked away). 5 min later, he drops off another small filet to "make up for the size" of the other one. Given the lack of attentive service, we asked for our checks when he brought out the mains. When we finally receive the checks, it is on 1 check. To which he basically tells us he doesn't know "who is with who" so just initial beside what we had so he could split it. At this point, we are READY to leave and try not to miss more of our show - which we're 40 min late for at this point. We paid for the meal (one check) and left. So would I recommend this location? Absolutely not purely based on the lackluster service. 2.5hours of the worst service I've experienced at this supposed level of an establishment. I've dined at many high end restaurants and know what true service and food...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend went to this place Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. We had a long day at work, and wanted to unwind and celebrate with a nice bottle of wine . My boyfriend has been to this place before, but it was my first time . Worst experience ever. My boyfriend was being friendly and just talking to the hostess about how we had just moved up the street, and that we’ve tried all of the restaurants in the area, but he hasn’t been to this one in a while and he wanted me to try it . The hostess basically rolled his eyes and told him that he would get us seated shortly. We waited for about 10 minutes, and a table next to the bar became available so we sat there until we could get a regular table . My boyfriend told the bartender that he already knew what kind of wine he wanted and to go ahead and bring it to us, so we could drink it while waiting for our table . She said ok, then my boyfriend asked the hostess how much longer it would be for our table and he said one would be available shortly because they were at their max capacity. So we continued to wait at the table by the bar . While thinking we were waiting on a bottle of wine, apparently the hostess and bartender got together and complained to the general manager about serving us alcohol. She came to our table and told us that she was happy to seat us but we couldn’t have any alcohol because the staff were “concerned “ like are you kidding me ? The staff couldn’t handle someone talking to them and having a normal conversation? My boyfriend told the general manager that we haven’t drank in almost 6 weeks because we were getting into health and working out, so he didn’t drank a drop of liquor that night. She looked him up and down and said “congratulations but like I said, no alcohol “. Me and him just looked at each other very confused. I was just over it at the point and said it’s fine let’s just go get seated and order dinner. We sat down and the waitress gave us menus , then I saw the hostess walk over and whisper something in his ear . I’m assuming he told him not to serve us alcohol too since the waitress didn’t bother giving us a wine list . At that point we were both embarrassed and felt completely unwelcome and just decided to leave . The rude hostess didn’t say have a good night or anything. He just looked at us sideways with a smirk like he was glad we were leaving. We ended up going to Jeff Ruby’s up the street and felt WAY more welcome. The food was great and they were happy to serve us the 2 bottles of wine that we ordered, one was to take home .I will NEVER spend my money or allow my boyfriend to spend his in this place EVER!! We ordered a well worth it $730 meal at Jeff Ruby’s , where we were appreciated ! Too bad Morton’s lost a great potential regular customer. I’d give zero...
Read moreI will never, ever come here again!! To spend dang near $800 and receive poor quality of service, was utterly disgusting!! We made reservations way in advance. Upon arrival we had to still wait for a table. That should have been my first clue, to just leave. After a 20+ minute wait, we (6 people) were finally seated. We then had to wait for our server to attend the table. Our server, was very some timey. Once we ordered our appetizers, which were ok, we then ordered our entrees. When we received our entrees, 3 orders were completely wrong. Our server, seemed like she had an attitude and then tried to say that she took the order correctly. I then spoke up and sternly corrected her, because I heard each and every order placed. She then took one plate back at a time, instead of all 3. She brought one plate back and all they did was wipe off the top of this $40+ steak and then made it well, well done. So now, it had to go back again. Then she brought out the other $40-$60 steaks and they were just ok. On top of that, the side dishes were cold. When the server was informed, again she got an attitude. Brought them back, however all they did was scoop old food on top of what was sent back prior. This is now the 3rd time management came over, but that was just a show from her position. Finally when the last of the steaks were delivered to the table. It was better. One of my party members ended up, spitting up in her plate, by mistake. Of course, she excused herself from the table and went to the restroom. Upon her return she had put a napkin on top of her plate and did mention to our server what happened. You couldn't see it or smell anything. So, this ignorant server goes and tells someone in the kitchen that my party threw all up in the plate and some guy comes up to our table in front of everyone, including other patrons in long black plastic gloves, acting like my party had Ebola or something. Very embarrassing, to say the least. The server then came and bagged our food, which we didnt even want, but puts the bags on the floor. Really?!? Nasty. The manager only took off steak and some sides. She should have done a lot more than that!! Then too make things worse, the valet had the nerve to charge us for parking, after spending that much money. No sign even indicated there was a fee. So, he comes and stands at our window looking for his money. To be a high priced restaurant, you have the nerve to charge for valet!! Outrageous!!!! I would not recommend this place to NOBODY AT ANY TIME!!! The food is definitely NOT worth $800!!! Very disappointed!!! Very...
