To see 4.5 stars on a sushi restaurant is frustrating. This place is a 3 star restaurant at best charging for top tier sushi. If your an into rolls I’d still say go somewhere else for quality. That must be what’s bringing the reviews though. The spicy tuna roll was almost sorry drenched in another sauce that might have actually ruined okay spicy tuna. The nigiri is served lukewarm and the sushi rice the cut is over is horrid. You can’t forget to leave out the globs of wasabi that accompanied the rice. I can’t say I’m a professional by any means but I’d like to think the Japanese would frown on the construction of these rolls. Please read my view understanding I can appreciate good food that is not my style. This is not worth what they’re offering and they know that. Hence to why they have no website with a menu to check out. $26.95 for Sushi A that had 7 pieces of Nigiri as well as a California roll included (I upgraded the California to the spicy tuna). That is fairly standard with a nice place that includes soup and salad or atleast one or the other. This place is making a fortune of there poor practice of making sushi and I do not recommend you visiting. Sapporo provides a much more fulfilling experience at a much better value. I’ve tried the vast majority of the sushi restaurants around town. Unfortunately this one was another let down. I’m hopeful for the upcoming places here as it’s really a small market of sushi worth eating, in and outside of Louisville!

I was going to Louisville for a spa day and searched Groupon for a new place to try. I found Osaka! Actually I found 2.lol I went to the one restaurant to discover I was at the wrong one and it took about 10 minutes to get to the proper place so check the address if you have a Groupon. Anyway the service was great. I got carry out but I did people watch while I waited. The waitress was attentive and i watched her double check orders before serving. The atmosphere was very chill, and was clean and orderly and everyone was nice. It was fun watching the guy make sushi behind the counter as well. No matter how hard I try I cannot do that and he was going fast to keep up with the many orders. Also they weren't stingy with the ingredients. Definitely an art form. The food was fresh and tasty, but I think it would have been better if I ate there instead of driving an hour home. The chicken fried rice was ok. I like my rice with a lot of veggies and flavor in it and it was literally only chicken. But that's my fault i suppose i should have paid more attention to what i was ordering. Usually in sushi nights I get noodles. The sushi was very good. My one complaint would be the tuna on one roll (think it was called like cherry blossom) had a slight metallic taste to it that I didn't like. I recommend the place and I'll def go back next time I'm in the area. Came with a fork, cop sticks and the good soy sauce.😁

This is my all-time favorite sushi place! Their miso soup and mushroom soup are both delicious. I always get a salad. The ginger dressing is so good. I’ve tried lots all over North America and am always disappointed when it doesn’t measure up to the Osaka dressing. I literally eat here multiple times most every week. There are so many good sushi rolls, and we have tried nearly all of them at this point, but my top two are the Osaka roll (best to eat for dine in so they can set it aflame) and the Volcano roll - a little spicy and so flavorful! And if really hungry I might get a second smaller roll like the AAC (avocado, asparagus, cucumber) roll or sweet (potato) roll. But sometimes I’m not in a sushi mood and I will get the chicken fried rice or the shrimp fried rice (both addictive!), and sometimes the chicken Katsu (sometimes I get two for leftovers the next day). Every once in a while, if I’m really hungry, I will get the bento box. It’s the best deal for so much food. And I always get the hot tea to drink. It’s so soothing. In addition to yummy food, the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. It’s always a great experience. This is my go-to place for nearly any occasion. We have even had family dinner parties there in their back dining room. With so much to choose from, the hardest part is narrowing down your choices to order.

I have mixed feelings about this place due to a practice that I felt was extremely dishonest in their application of gratuity and restaurant.com vouchers. The special on restaurant.com states spend $50, you get $25 off. Our family of 4 spends double or triple this amount on dining out in most cases. We were overall satisfied with our meal. It was slow, but the server was friendly and attentive. The trouble came when the bill came. My daughter provided the server with the code and she returned with an amended bill. So I thought....The total of the bill came to roughly $89. The server added 18% gratuity to the bill automatically and then took the $25 off that total. 🤔

2 issues here: Most restaurants, even fine dining do not automatically apply gratuity to a party of 4 unless it's published or posted somewhere. The manager acknowledged it was not posted on their website or on restaurant.com when questioned 2.They applied the gratuity first and then applied the $25 off. EVERYONE knows that discounts apply to the original billed amount.

They were essentially charging an extra $14 dollars more just because we used a voucher. The irony here is that my Hubby always tips well. More like 25% for good service.

After some reasoning based on principle with the manager she agrees to reverse the total bill and re-run it.

She returns a few minutes later and asks if I would be willing to be refunded the difference in cash instead of reversing and re-running the transaction. I agreed and thanked her for making it right. I was only given $4 and some change in cash.. only time will tell if it really will be made right.

Now, where the true integrity comes into play is if the final transaction shows as the $80 that she handwrote or the $89 that was on the original bill. I'll update once the charge hits my account. Hopefully this helps someone else in their decision making...
