For the price versus quality, I don't think any other restaurant in Louisville can challenge Sam's. For around $12 including tip, I always order the lamb gyro platter from here. It is a large portion of fresh vegetables, plenty of rice and sauce, a pita, and very generous serving of sliced lamb that always makes two full meals for me. I want to try more of the food from here, but I already love what I order too much. I also really enjoy the wide selection of drinks they have. Everything from aloe drinks and Sunny D in the cooler to the Big Red on tap makes me take notice of something I rarely pay attention to in other restaurants. On top of all the praise for the food and drink, the employees are always welcoming and friendly. One time when I came in here, the box i was carrying to the table snapped and my food dropped on the floor. By the time I turned around one person behind the counter was already making me a replacement and the other was coming over with a broom. I'm glad years ago I decided to give this place a chance, and the quality hasn't dropped one iota since. Hands down my favorite place to grab a cheap meal in Louisville that won't leave me feeling disgusted with...

I told a friend that I hadn't had a good gyro since I left Chicago and he took me here where they actually get meat from Chicago.

Not only is the food good but, the workers are not stingy when they give you gyro meat each time. They give you so much, you can eat some of your sandwich as a gyro salad or you can buy an extra pita bread for just $1.

They are so thoughtful when they make your sandwich that when you tell them you want an extra pita, they make the sandwich carefully for example they add more meat than 🥬 lettuce. I love getting lettuce added because it makes the sandwich taste like a salad too. The rice is also delicious and it can be added to your sandwich. I've never had a group with the dressing they use or the cheese. I go to so many gyro places and they rarely add cheese. Sam's gyro uses fetta cheese. It's delicious. I hope they don't change when it comes to their...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sam's Gyros, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely excellent—flavorful, fresh, and served with attention to detail. What impressed me even more was the generous portion size you get for a reasonable price, making it a fantastic value for your money.

The staff at Sam's Gyros deserves special commendation for their friendliness. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The positive and inviting atmosphere created by the staff contributed significantly to my overall dining experience.

In summary, Sam's Gyros is a hidden gem that not only delivers on taste but also ensures you leave with a satisfied appetite. The combination of delicious food, generous portions, and friendly service makes it a must-visit for anyone craving a delightful...

If this review saves you from their chicken gyro or chicken over rice you should be thankful to me. Worst gyro chicken ever had. I had a mix gyro over rice. They gave two big chunk of boiled chicken breast marinated with turmeric. Beware of the chicken. Rice was not basmati. It was big mushy rice. They don’t have any authentic home made sauce. Used store brought sriracha sauce when I asked for hot sauce. Lamb gyro meat was good. Well cooked and well seasoned lamb. There were two homeless inside trying to confront people who come to buy. Atmosphere looks unhygienic. Utensils were open on a tray to grab. The reason of this big review is I was shocked to counter this quality of food when a restaurant has these amounts of good reviews. One mix gyro over rice and can soda costs $15.55. In terms of price and food quality it’s a scam.

Myself and my family were visiting from Indiana and went to this place both nights we were there! Ordered a variety of things ( lamb platter, philly cheese steak platter, chicken shawarma and chicken tenders) all were amazing and so flavorful. They don't skimp on the meat or side toppings either. Their tambuli and grape leaves were so good, literally some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Reasonably priced and great service overall, really nice people. I will definitely be back when I'm in town again 10/10!

This is load-you-up, tasty, college type of Mediterranean food!... Ate this food with some coworkers and I must say I'm pleasantly impressed. I got the lamb gyro with rice. Bam-a-lamb is what I gotta say! Shoot. I mean. Its fresh, tasty, flavorful. Exactly what you want and expect from a gyro place. I honestly like the rice a little bit more than the gyro to be honest. Although it all was wonderful. If you want some classic type of Mediterranean food check this place out
