As part of our annual Christmas trip to Bargstown, KY, my girlfriend and another couple had the visited this restaurant, and I must say that it was a truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant set the tone for a memorable evening. The décor, with its rich wood accents and sophisticated ambiance, created a sense of elegance and refinement that was perfectly complemented by the exceptional service provided by the restaurant's management team, Tim and Brandon. Our dinner was nothing short of phenomenal, with each dish expertly prepared and presented to perfection. The chef's culinary expertise was evident in every bite, and the quality of the ingredients was exceptional.
In addition to the outstanding cuisine, the drinks at Steak & Bourbon were exceptional. The restaurant's impressive selection of bourbons and craft cocktails was a highlight of the evening, and the knowledgeable staff were happy to offer recommendations and guidance to ensure that we made the most of our drinking experience.
What truly set Steak & Bourbon apart, however, was the exceptional service provided by Tim, Brandon, and Shane B, the restaurant's management team. Their attention to detail, warm hospitality, and dedication to ensuring that every guest had a memorable experience was awe-inspiring. They went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was met, and their passion for providing an exceptional dining experience was evident in every aspect of our visit.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Steak & Bourbon to anyone seeking a truly exceptional dining experience in Louisville, Kentucky. With its outstanding cuisine, impressive selection of drinks, and excellent service, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable meal. I would give Steak & Bourbon a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars, and I look forward...
Read moreWe took our visiting family here to celebrate a wedding. We had a group of 15 and were seated in a very nice area, relatively private. The service we received was excellent. The music was too loud for us, unfortunately. We could only hear and talk to our direct neighbors (or yell across the table). 4 of our people were extremely hard of hearing (hearing aids) and could not hear anyone speaking the entire evening except their next door neighbor, so I would not recommend this to the older crowd. This restaurant would be perfect for a much smaller group or even just 2 people. The bread served with the beef tallow candles was delicious, though several in our group had Celiac and could not partake (nothing unusual there). We ordered a few different food items. The steaks were all perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Those who had au gratin potatoes (several of us) unanimously agreed they were too rich to fully enjoy. We each could only take a couple of bites. The pasta Bolognese had excellent flavor but was greasy. I ordered French Onion soup (so good!) to arrive first, but it arrived at the same time as my full meal, and because I figured I would not be able to take it home I ate that first and my steak was then room temperature, so I took it home with me. The shrimp was excellent. Veggie sides all seemed to be great (broccoli, mushrooms, and Brussel sprouts were some of them in our group). Those who had mac and cheese (in both cases they were ordered as their meal and not a side) said they would not reorder as it was too rich. It might be better as just a side to something to balance the richness. So in summary I'd say mind your dairy-filled side choices, they might be too rich for some people, but they are still delicious. Definitely consider ordering shrimp or steak, you will not be...
Read moreGreat Food, Excellent Service, but Prepare for a loud atmosphere. Steak and Bourbon nearly delivers on its core promise of quality, high-end dining, but the atmosphere on our night severely limied the overall experience. This would may have reached a 5-star rating if not for one significant factor: the noise level. The Positives: Food (Good to Great): The quality of the food was impressive. The steaks were cooked expertly, and everything from appetizers to sides was executed very well, easily placing the cuisine very near 5 stars. Service (Excellent): Our server was fantastic. For a group of six, the service was attentive, smooth, and genuinely great throughout the night. No complaints here! The Downside (The Noise): While the restaurant has a lively, loud vibe throughout the main dining room, the volume of the live saxophone player made conversation impossible for our group of six. We were seated in relatively close proximity to the musician and he was mixed up... it really made it way too loud. We spent the entire meal leaning in and shouting to hear each other, which heavily detracted from what should have been a relaxing, high-end dinner. I think it would have been really nice if just much softer. Summary: If you are visiting solely for the high-quality food and service and don't plan on carrying on much of a conversation, you'll love it. However, if you're looking for an atmosphere where you can connect and converse with your group, you may want to skip this spot, pick a night without live music or request a table far away from the performance area (and still not sure that would have been good enough). The noise level alone is what brought this experience down from a 4-5 star meal to a 3-4...
