I'm halfway through the 4 slices I took to go on 3/31/2018. Warmly greeted by a gentleman and young lady behind the counter and said I'd be taking a few slices to go, cold for proper reheat and judgment in the man cave. I selected the Stuffed Spinach, Vegetable, Pepperoni cups w peppers and pesto, and a Bianca. They packed them nicely with small sides of their tomato sauce and some ranch. The tomato sauce was so good I was taking sips of it directly from the styrofoam cup with each bite of the spinach. Am I proud of it? No. Am I glad I did it? Yes. The spinach is deceptively light and flavorful where most places demolish the concept. I was pleased to find onions, cheese, spinach and halved kalamata olives layered inside the crust which really elevated the flavor and NOBODY else does that. They CARE (a repeat notion in this review...strap in). Crust has crunch and light flavor, no copious, doughy spots in any slices. Cooked to deep golden brown so the reheat was flawless in a 420 degree oven (yeah its like that). I knew this was going to be a great experience by the way the car smelled like pure awesome within minutes of getting the still cold slices in it. 2nd slice was the mixed veg. Gave this one an extra few mins in the oven and was rewarded with an almost 1-hander! Lost a few of the amazingly fresh toppings off the side and scooped them up with the crunchy yet tender crust toward the end. Pizza, salad and bread stick satisfaction all in one slice?! Surely this is some sort of wizardry I can barely understand. I don't even eat raw veg and enjoy it...now I do. I examined this slice, nay, artifact and discovered they seeded the fresh tomatoes and diced them small by hand possibly...because they care. They ribbed and seeded the green pepper...because they care. They clearly use high quality pickled hot peppers that aren't still wet ...say it with me...BECAUSE THEY CARE! The mushrooms were fresh and not canned and all the veg looked like that days. THIS is the attention to detail that makes a local pizza jernt stand out and I WILL be going back there to satisfy my weekend mid day variety slice pizza jones from this day hence. Those 2 slices filled me up, will have to continue...
Read more8/1/25: Short version - a cute little pizzeria in amongst a strip mall. While visiting Loveland (from Arizona), some family were staying in an AirBnB, the landlord suggested we hit up Arte. Happy he did because the food was good & they had some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.
Long version - there was ample parking and although Arte was not a large establishment, they had a mighty staff, all bustling around each other. The young gal at the counter was very bubbly & as we started asking questions, she did not hesitate to explain how busy they were & that if we wanted to order a whole pizza, we would likely be waiting an hour. I like that kind of upfront honestly. She pointed to all the tickets on the wall & yeah, it was full. But I tell you, the staff were expertly maneuvering around each other busting out the orders, & I heard one or more "shouting" orders out, keeping everyone else apprised of what needed done. Excellent!
They had plenty of individual slices in their display, but we opted to look deeper into their menu. We ordered pepperoni rolls, their antipasto salad, and portobello ravioli. They most def do not skimp on their cheese! Everything came out hot and tasted wonderfully delicious. The pepperoni rolls were stuffed to the gills with meat & cheese; the small garlic buns were light & airy; the ravioli was thick with portobello; and the antipasto salad was deep w/ mozzarella, artichoke hearts, salami, all the goodies you would expect.
There were only a few other patrons dining in, so the eight of us were able to get a few tables together. Plenty of people came in to pick up their orders, and (sadly) a few groups came in but left -- I'm guessing because of the wait for full-size pizzas. I feel sorry for those who left because THEY MISSED OUT ON SOME DAMN GOOD FOOD. :-)
We must have done something right, because the owner/manager (?) treated us to some of their cannolis, also delicious. If you haven't tried Arte Pizzeria yet, what the heck is wrong...
Read moreThere are aspects of Arte that are really great. They have good crust and sauce and it seems like they use good ingredients, but honestly it seems like they have really bad employees who don't care about the end product. I have given Arte a lot of chances, even after they sent me a pizza with an olive pit on it and it cracked my boyfriend's tooth (after which I called them and one of the many inept employees basically said "Oh that sucks" and then hung up). They just glob ricotta in big gloopy globs in your calzones and on the bianca pizza (Not the most appealing mouthful of food!) and sometimes it seems like you're not getting ripped off, but most of the time they're ridiculously stingy with all of the toppings. But honestly I was still eating there, so it couldn't have been that bad right? Yeah it was decent pizza that you can have delivered. But tonight was the last time I'll order from Arte. I don't live in the most accessible apartment, but if you knock on the wrong door twice (the same wrong door not 2 different doors) and then proceed to have a conversation at the top of your lungs outside my house talking about how it's upstairs (and still don't come upstairs) and then start talking to some random person who apparently you know, and still don't come upstairs and eventually make me come downstairs (even though I know you know that you need to be upstairs because you were talking really really loudly) then it's not my stupid apartment placement that's the problem. Your job is to deliver a pizza! It's not that hard! That's not even mentioning the fact that the person on the phone sounded like they were completely stoned. Hire better people and I'll eat your mediocre food because it's convenient, but having to deal with the idiots who work there make it so inconvenient that I'm not going to waste my money or my patience on...
