Blackjack Pizza & Salads — Restaurant in Loveland

Very poor experience with a company I thought would appreciate a small business supporter. I almost always order from this same location each time I'm thinking of pizza or wings. There's been a few mishaps, but, it's par for the course. This time, last night, 5/28/22, I made a mistake on my online order and ordered boneLESS wings instead of bone-IN wings. I also put a special request in the box that indicated that my order should be boneIN. When I got heavily battered, deep fried to the point of hardness, chicken nuggets and I checked and saw my mistake but, also wondered, why wouldn't they have called for clarification? There's no point in that box. Plus, I had only a bit of money left for the month and even had to split payment to treat myself. So, I called up, being a regular customer. And explained to the person who answered the phone and identified himself as the one who prepared my order. He said, "...yah, that confused me, too..." when I asked if he saw my notes. And then he said, '...doesn't matter, I made it like it said ...' and said that was it. I asked if there was some way to make it right and he said I got 2 lbs of food versus 8 wings. I said, I have a gluten allergy and, I'm also not trying to get more food, just food I can eat. I didn't mind trading for an 8 pack of wings instead of my 2 orders of what they call boneless chicken which really is heavily breaded pieces of chicken that could have hurt someone if you threw it at them. I said that I order from them all of the time. Isn't there something he could do? He said he wouldn't '...argue...' with me and hung up abruptly. I always order directly instead of going through grubhub to help the small business save on costs that way, too. But, if this had happened, grubhub would have refunded my...

The food is normally pretty delicious. But my last three times in a row I've had to call the store back cuz there's been something wrong with my order. Granted they normally fix it relatively quickly. The man who answers the phone is always grumpy and tries to fight with me over what I order. But I just hold out until I talk to the manager and they normally make it right. I've been in the Foodservice industry for 15 years and if someone is competently explaining to you what's wrong with their order. It's your job to make it right even if it's annoying. I feel just and every single one of my complaints I've had with them was legitimate, as I know what a whiny customer is. And I'm proud of them for always fixing the order. But it's kind of annoying that it has to be messed up every single time. It really bums me out because Blackjack is by far my favorite of the chains. They keep changing up there gluten free pizza dough which sucks because my kiddos can't have gluten. So we always order from there so that everyone's happy. Two orders ago I had to send the pizza back cuz it was enedible. OAnce I finally got to talk to the manager, she agreed that it was gross and that she was hoping that they would change it back soon. She cooked me up two Pizzas fresh from the old gluten free dough that they still had. I just feel like consistency is key and that is obviously not something that they are doing at this...

Hands down superior to your average well known chain pizza (pizza hut, dominos, etc). Decently priced. Solid Delivery experiences. Have ordered 3+ dozen times and will consider again.

Some big pitfalls include serious lack of specials (I recommend calling in). Web site 'Deals' page often has weird, sometimes contridictory, 'deals' (for example, XL 5 top for $$$ right next to XL 5 top for 1 dollar less then other listing). Feels very neglected. On a couple occasions I was able to build an order for the same price as what was listed on 'deals' page.

Another unfortunate experience is the toppings. We have people that like double pepperoni and we have people that like pepperoni and extra cheese. Ordering one of each but receiving the same pizza suggests either not getting what was paid for for a lack of effort to fulfill the order accurately.
