Their food quality and customer service seems like it has gone downhill the past couple of years.
When I was ordering there was no confirmation of what ordered. Just an awkward moment of silence, followed with a flat, low and annoyed reply of "okay?" like...I was putting him out, or being obtuse for ordering menu items? I can't even explain it, other than clearly, the guy didn't want to be there and acted imposed upon.
Then, I wasn't asked what I wanted to drink with my meal order? Usually I try to be polite and wait on them to ask, but it was just....dead silent again. So, I told him what I wanted, and again, "Okay?" No confirmation or read back.
We ordered the salad (which we not good and we didn't finish it) and no asking about dressing, or anything, just another, "Okay?"
Same everything else we ordered...just "okay?" and silence. What?
After we were clearly finished ordering, there was no feedback or response. Just more silence...until I said, "And that should do it.."
And yep, again I get, "Okay?"
I get to the window, wasn't greeted, and instead was just told the price, had our food shoved to us, our drinks, receipt and debit card in one fell swoop. I asked for ketchup and I wasn't even acknowledged.
As I mentioned above, the salad wasn't so great and we threw it out after a few bites. I used to really love Runza, and gave it five stars, now I'm going to be hard pressed to go back.
This is overall the experience I am having in most establishments. I hate to sound like a old geyser, but I am starting to think it's a generational issue, because of how frequent this is becoming in so many places, compared to even...
Read moreWe have been passing this place for over a year and finally stopped in today to try it out. We kew nothing about the restaurant, or their products. There was not much explanation on the menu board, so we took a chance and ordered from a very eager worker. I had the Pepper Jack Runza, the wife tried the Cheese Runza meals that ran us about $16. We grabbed our drinks and a table and our food was there as we sat down. Pretty obvious that it was prepared ahead of the order. The Runzas were wrapped in paper and resembled soft tacos. Opening I found a small roll cut down the sides and the filling was some peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese and a very small amount of some ground meat with what looked like cabbage. My wife's looked very similar but it had more of the ground meat/cabbage with evidence of some American type cheese. The fries were hot, but they were the "Crinkle Cut" kind that you buy in the supermarket frozen food isle. Initial taste of mine was OK. Got the taste of the Jack cheese and a soft roll. My wife took her bite, then just finished her fries. I ate mine, and it was OK, but not $8 OK. The wife threw hers away. We filled our drinks and left hungry, disappointed, and $16 poorer. How is this place serving since 1949? If you have a choice,...
Read moreHaven't had a Runza in years. We were in Ft Collins and drove by one. I'd been talking about them just weeks before. I was introduced to them when in Nebraska many many years ago. Loved them. The staff here was friendly. We ordered 6 to bring home and freeze a few. The kid in the back kind of rolled his eyes when she told him we wanted them in a box (vs. a bag) but it made me smile more than get mad lol. Yeah, he needs to construct the box...but he did it and the hot Runzas were packed nicely with instructions for warming them. We got the Runzas with cheese, what I always used to get but you can't really taste the cabbage. While they are still yummy, I'd get the regular (no cheese) next time. These pockets of yum are a nice change from a common fast food restaurant burger, chicken, sub-sammy or taco. Wished there was one closer to me, but thankfully they are still around after all of these years when I visit up northern Colorado. If you haven't had one, you should try it. Oh and they're fries were nice and...
