it was just okay, the potatoes on the side of the dish were good. I ordered the veggie crepe, and was served the meat crepe instead . the meal was comped as a result of the error but it was still a not ideal first experience combined with not getting water cups at the table within the first 10-15 minutes of sitting down, and not receiving silverware prior to food being served. The servers seemed unorganized, and the napkin holder was empty so I literally had no napkin while eating as well. also, the crepe i ordered came lined with egg. crepes are not usually made in an omlette style fashion, lined with eggs, ever. this was not a huge issue but it was a surprise considering eggs were not listed in the food order description for this menu item (as it was for other menu items) as its not a traditional way to be served, would have been nice to explicitly write. that would be like ordering pancakes and then finding eggs under your pancakes without eggs being listed, just a bit weird. they also dont offer any meat alternatives, which in 2024, is a bit surprising to me. every single salad they sell, comes with meat already on it. the pricing structure should be such that the initial price excludes added meat proteins, and you then may pay extra for meat protein add ons as many restaurants do. since, if you order something without meat protein, they dont deduct anything from the price, nor do they offer plant protein substitutes. everything overwhelmingly comes with meat already on it (with the exception of pancakes which hold little to no nutritional value) . would be nice to have more menu items listed without meat, and having it as an add on option. (as it should be) also - the meat crepe and the veggie crepe were priced the exact same despite one containing just veggies and no additional internal protein source, and the other containing 3 meat protein sources. One would think the pricing would differ as a result. lots of questions about the menu structure as a whole.
we also had to choose whether we were eating at the cactus grille or the egg king side of the business upon arrival. there was no option to look at both menus before deciding what we wanted despite both restaurants operating in the exact same vicinity.
to top it off, not the fault of the business specifically but an obnoxious customer who sat down after us decided to play their own, terrible quality music off a travel speaker and was listening in to my tables conversation, and tried to comment on something we were talking about, which was not an invited interruption. It was rude and uncomfortable. it should be the servers responsibility to appropriately manage people playing music off of a personal speaker, given it was disruptive to...
Read moreI recently had a chance to check out this local spot, and overall, it was a pretty solid experience. The service stood out right from the start. The server who took care of us was notably energetic and friendly, which definitely added to the dining experience. His upbeat attitude was a refreshing change, and it seemed like he genuinely enjoyed what he was doing.
The menu options are varied, but if youâre a vegetarian, you might find the choices a bit limited at first glance. However, itâs worth noting that the server mentioned theyâre pretty flexible with substitutions. While there arenât many obvious vegetarian options listed, theyâre more than willing to adjust dishes to suit your dietary preferences. Itâs always great to go somewhere thatâs accommodating without making a fuss.
I decided to try a burrito, and it was a pleasant surprise. I requested it without meat, and the kitchen delivered a tasty burrito that didnât feel like it was missing anything. What I particularly appreciated was their attitude towards modifications. Unlike some places that might upcharge you or get annoyed if you ask to remove a bunch of ingredients, here, they were more than happy to customize the dish to my liking. I had asked to leave out sour cream, meat, and another ingredient I wasnât a fan of, and they substituted those with other options without any hassle. That kind of flexibility is always appreciated, especially if youâre someone who likes to tweak your meal to fit your taste.
The ambiance of the place was laid-back, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. Itâs not trying to be overly fancy or pretentious, which is refreshing. The focus seems to be on providing good food and decent service, and in that regard, they succeed. The overall vibe is welcoming, and itâs clear theyâre making an effort to cater to their customersâ needs.
In summary, this spot offers a good dining experience with attentive service and a willingness to accommodate special requests. While the vegetarian options might not be extensive, the flexibility to modify dishes is a big plus. If youâre looking for a place where you can get a decent meal without the hassle of extra charges for customizations, this is worth...
Read moreI guess I should have figured from the name but there are not really options for vegans. I had the avocado toast but it is not enough food to call a full breakfast. The toast was not toasted or warm and the mashed avocado had absolutely no seasoning and was also cold, like it had just come straight out of the fridge. The breakfast potatoes were soggy and also completely lacking flavor.
Iâm not going to comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant or the service because I know theyâre a newer restaurant and maybe it just takes a while to get that stuff sorted but if they want to appeal to a customer base with any dietary restrictions they really need to do better than a single piece of stale bread with chilled...
