Joey's Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Lower Allen

I have to say I've been wanting to try Joey's Chicken shack for quite some time ever since I first open. When I walked into Joey's Chicken shack it had the most calming and Southern looking atmosphere with like a chicken wind chime and it just had very authentic like 1950s style Chicken shack look to it. I walked up to the counter the guy greeted me and treated me with respect and was very professional. When I was trying to decide what I wanted he asked if I ever ate here and when I told him I didn't he recommended some things including a chicken sandwich. They have a large selection of stuff and they have different styles I guess you could say and sauces. I got the southern tender chicken sandwich and it was the best sandwich I have ever had that was a chicken sandwich compared to other places I have gotten chicken sandwiches from. Everything was evenly distributed and it wasn't too overpowering with the sauce it was just perfect. It had a sauce that had a little kick to it but it blended well with the role the pickles and the chicken tenders. I would recommend this place 110% because it is the best chicken place I have been to and the atmosphere makes you feel welcome...

First time going here myself. Co-workers suggested it but advised me to stay away from anything that isn't "Chicken Tenders". I decided I wanted to be adventurous and try this myself so I ordered grilled tenders, a few regular tenders and Quesadilla and small fries.

Firstly this "Quesadilla" was wrapped poorly in aluminum foil. I'm so thankful the guy asked me for a bag because it leaked out of the aluminum and went all over the place. After I got back to work I took it out and it was just a flimsy tortilla barely able to hold the contents, it looked absolutely horrible, but I've eaten worst things so I tried it out. The taste of the Pulled BBQ Chicken wasn't bad but the overall presentation and lack of other flavors pretty much ruled this out for me. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone else.

The tenders of both varieties were great (per usual) and I got Buffalo and Honey Mustard (for an additional $0.50, this also rubbed me the wrong way since I ordered more then enough food to justify more then 1 sauce cup, but whatever rules are rules I suppose.

The fries were fresh and good! No complaints there. The staff is very nice and the establishment...

Best food I ever have ate in my life. I swear I'm addicted to the chicken taquitos. The flavor that they have is just insane. I can't believe food can taste that good. I did not even know the place existed. I found it by accident after having a hair appointment at the salon next to it. When my hair appointment was over I got in my truck and was getting ready to leave when I picked up a smell and it just smelled so good, so basically I just guessed where it was coming from and I was definitely right. I don't know what else to try at the place. I'm sure the other food is probably just as good but I just crave them chicken taquitos. 😁 Also the people that work there go out of their way for you and are just so friendly. The place is absolutely wonderful. I would and have recommended this place to many people since first discovering it. I suggest whoever is reading this right now finds the time to get here if you never have been. I promise you will not be...
