If you have food allergies beware of El Limon and how they cook there food on the grill. They cook all the various types of food on one grill. My wife's meal was served and she ate a small portion of her chicken dish when she noticed shrimp buried at the bottom of the plate under the other food ingredigents on the plate. We called the waitress over and explained the food allergies my wife has to seafood. Her response was nonchalant and just walked away. We got the manager and apprised him of the situation and he kind of understood the problem. He walked away and did not return to see if my wife was okay. When we got the check her meal was removed from the check. The manager and the waitress never asked how my wife was doing. The next day, I had a cordial conservation with the owner of El Limon . I mentioned that the cooks, servers and managers need to have a better understanding about food allergies and how they prepare and cook there food on the grill. I explained the seriousness of the situation to the owner and how the staff at Bryn Mawr handled the problem. We are and they are very fortunate nothing more serious came of this problem. The owner refused to reimburse the table for our inconvience and ended the phone conversation by hanging up on me. This incident was handled very poorly from El Limon. My wife and our friends who were regular customers of El Limon are now no longer customers of El Limon.
IN ORDER TO POST THIS REVIEW, I HAD TO GIVE IT ONE STAR. ACTUALLY THEY...
Read moreThe food and prices were so good that this was our favorite restaurant despite the consistently awful service. Tonight, though, we hit our breaking point. Sat for 10+ minutes and never got a server. It wasn't busy; another table that came in after us got served. There was plenty of staff, but most (including the guy I think is the manager) were on their phones.
We have been there close to 100 times over the past few years. Not once has the host (who I think is the manager) acknowledged that he's even seen us before, let alone acted friendly toward us. We always feel as if we're bothering him by coming in. And they frequently mess up our orders, like forgetting to bring my wife's soup until after our entrees.
One time, we brought a group of eight friends on a Friday night, and the guy who I think is the manager asked us to leave at 9:30, immediately after we finished our meals - presumably so they could close early, because we were the last table, but there was no explanation or apology or anything. He just said "You guys gotta leave," which was really embarrassing after we had talked the place up to our friends.
Another time, we brought my family in, and they brought us one wine glass for eight of us, and made us wait 20 minutes before bringing anything else (even though we told them multiple times we could use regular cups).
Tonight was the last straw. We will take our business elsewhere...
Read moreThe food was pretty good but I was the only one in the restaurant and my order was messed up 3 times.
First, the incorrect toppings were on the tacos. Then, they fixed the toppings and then I realized the incorrect taco had been given to me ( chicken instead of beef). When I asked to be provided the correct taco, the waitress told me that I ordered it incorrectly. I was almost totally sure that I did not ( I don’t like to assume that I am perfect and do make mistakes but was pretty confident I had not made this mistake), and after being given the incorrect order 3 times ( all while being the only customer in the store around 4 pm on a weekday), I did not appreciate being told I had made the mistake. The waitress seemed annoyed when I asked for the mistake to be fixed. She did not make an effort to apologize either. Overall, it was an uncomfortable experience that I do not...
