I'm not sure where the negative reviews come from. I found this place on Groupon, and after reading that they roast their own coffee daily, I had to try it. My experience was delightful.
I went in around 10 am on a Friday, and it was pretty crowded for that time of the day. Both owners and two additional staff were working. I was greeted immediately.
I was there to purchase some whole beans, as I like to grind and brew at home. I asked it they had some kind of "sampler". They did not, but I was referred to the owner, who was very accommodating and friendly despite the busyness of the place. I asked him select for me 6 of his favorite roasts, and he carefully packaged them and labeled each with some notes and the date they were roasted.
He was eager to answer any and all questions I had, and seems to really enjoy what he does. He gladly accepted my Groupon.
The coffee beans themselves are fantastic! So far his "Linglestown Roast" is my favorite, but I still have a few more to try. If you are at all a "coffee snob", you will love what St. Thomas Roasters...
Read moreJust stopped to pickup two American flags that were laying on the ground out front. Told the guy sitting out front that I had stopped to pick them up. He then verbally accosted me, gave me the middle finger, and boasted about his service in Afghanistan. I said that I’d expect him to have a little more respect for the flag then. He continued to hold up his middle finger and verbally berate me for picking up the flags.
As a veteran myself, with family members, friends and fellow service members who have died in Afghanistan, his behavior was appalling. Considering this place is currently closed, my assumption is that this sorry excuse for a Veteran owns the place or works there. Disgusting. If you lack that much respect for our country and those who have defended it, then you need to remove those flags from your property, because you don’t deserve...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE St. Thomas Roasters. I have been coming here with friends and by myself for around eight years now. They handled the whole COVID situation very very well and helped the community out while they did so. The vibe inside the coffee shop is perfect and ambient. I love bringing my homework and study materials there to enjoy a coffee and get my work done. Their outdoor area is also beautiful. My favorite things to get there are their Italian sodas and iced coffee with lavender flavor. Their pastries are also very yummy as well--I recommend the muffins and scones! For their 21st anniversary, they had raffle where you pulled from a jar and whatever was on the paper was your prize and I got a free coffee. It was a nice little surprise for after turning 21 the day before...
