I am from Manhattan NYC...I grew up on authentic Chinese cuisine. When I walked in, there were other Chinese families enjoying a large shared lunch spread. That was a GREAT SIGN and I sat down anticipating the best Chinese I've had in years. My son and I were ready to indulge and we left highly satisfied. In fact, he (my son) plans on returning with friends to show them what real Chinese cuisine should taste like.
When I tell you, I will drive 30 mins to eat here, you know it's good. It doesn't have that MSG/Sodium/over breaded, junk dosed fake food taste.
This is bright, delicate and light, flavors of Sichuan where the ingredients and prep make the dishes shine. All made with fresh in house noodles, or dumpling dough. Meat and veggies are sliced beautifully, and thinly, so that each bite tastes consistent, smells fragrant of it's designated spice and you can appreciate each dish.
I did not taste any PRE PREPPED, over cooked, chewy, sticky, slap on a plate and send them out food. ...They don't do the lazy bulk chop/ingredient dump as you see with americanized Chinese food/take out spots.
Everything in this food screams "cooked with love, pride and skill"... This is balanced and sophisticated food.
The place also has that large dinner party vibe, so bring friends. Portions are large and served in a way you can share...
Read moreThis is an authentic Chinese restaurant. The real deal and so refreshing- we will definitely be back. We had a party of 4 on a Friday night, early evening. The quality and flavor of the food satisfies whether you are a food adventurer or like to stick to the basics. We shared two appetizers and each ordered a meal. Most of us finished our meals. The portions were just right to generous. The only downside was the service(which Iam sure they will work out!) - the staff were doing their best but they were incredibly busy - we got there around 5:30 and business exploded from there. Also they were understaffed - we estimated they could have used, 3 servers, 1 dedicated register person, a dedicated person for takeout orders, and someone to bus tables. They had one server who also bussed and worked the register. Then someone from the kitchen was doing takeout and bringing food. Then towards the end of our visit what seemed to be the owner came in and started clearing tables and getting all the people waiting seated. As a result, we paid for two drinks we never received because we were late for a movie, we had to ask for water and plates and bowls and the check and to go containers. It was a challenge getting someone's attention and a customer at the counter said she waited an hour for her...
Read moreBeware ordering from Door Dash. The cost of each dish is nearly doubled by this restaurant! My chicken was 28, my shrimp was 36, and my string beans were 22. Total including tip was 122, for just the three dishes. I appreciate the kind response below, but this latest edit from the owner is fundamentally incorrect, and it's alarming how he has gone from full refund for this egregious charge to partial discount on some future order. That's the stuff of dishonesty and manipulation. I've never seen that door dash markup anywhere else and he needs to take full responsibility. Also, frankly, the food is hit or miss. That shrimp dish was just fried batter! The chicken with peppers was sub par. The string beans...
