Was very disappointed in our visit. When we were seated, the hostess said, "You can see our full menu by scanning the code on the table". I asked for a paper menu. She looked at me like I was crazy and asked, "Don't you have a phone?!" I said that I did but still wanted a paper menu. Seemed a huge inconvenience for her. My husband and I were supplied with one paper menu. Went to the hostess station to ask for another and was told that they only supply one menu per table. If a restaurant charges $13.00 for a bowl of ramen noodles(!), I'm pretty sure they can afford to give each patron their own paper menu. So my husband had to wait for me to see what I wanted before he could even look at it. When the waitress came to take our order, I told her we weren't ready because my husband hadn't been able to look at the menu yet. When we were ready to order, I had to wave at someone at the hostess station to get someone to take our order. Received our appetizer and food quickly. The crab wontons were tasty. My husband had the BBQ spare ribs but said they were over-cooked. He only ate half of them. I had the lo mein with chicken. The chicken was dry. The overall dish was very bland. Had to put about 1/4 cup of soy sauce on it (after flagging down the hostess again to get some) to make it palatable. I only ate half of it and it wasn't worth taking home for leftovers.

PROS: Seated quickly Food came out quickly Extremely generous portions

CONS: Treated like a nut case for wanting to see a paper menu at a restaurant gasp Incredibly overpriced Entrees bland and overcooked

Oh, and by the way, the only reason we went there in the first place was because my uncle had given us the $25 gift card that he received as an apology from the horrible experience HE had at PF Chang's.

Save your money and your taste buds and go a few doors down to Aspen Creek.

Update: The local manager called me twice until he got in touch with me. He said that the issues I described with the service have been addressed with the staff. He also refunded the money we spent on our meal! Good follow up...

My wife and I dined on Sunday evening, 11/11/2018 and were pretty disappointed with our meal, unfortunately! We have enjoyed eating at P.F. Chang's at other locations in the past, so we had fairly high expectations that were not met. Our waitress was absolutely lovely (friendly, fast, attentive) and our cocktails were wonderful (pear and coconut mojitos) but those were the only positive aspects of our experience. My wife ordered a chicken curry dish that had absolutely no chicken (maybe the kitchen mistakenly thought she ordered the veggie curry option?) and was extremely under seasoned. My own Hokkeiden street noodles were very undercooked (I enjoy al dente pasta but these noodles were raw), dry, and completely under seasoned as well. I was supposed to get shrimp and chicken but it greatly lacked either protein. We were underwhelmed (the waitress offered to box up our leftovers but I declined though I hate to waste that amount of food) but ordered a dessert to share in hopes we would have at least one yummy thing to eat. The molten chocolate cake was tiny but tasty enough, though the ice cream that was served alongside it was overchurned and icy, almost inedible. Overall we left unhappy and I had to apologize to my wife that we didn't eat someplace else! Not sure we will ever return to this location. It's a shame, we've had really great meals at this chain in the past!

Update to my review: a few weeks after posting this review I was contacted by an owner or manager of this location. He apologized for our experience and offered a gift card if we would be willing to come back and I said absolutely, that I appreciated his follow up and his kindness. He seemed so nice and I gave him my address to send the gift card. Never received it. I'm sure he is a busy man but what was the point then? It was just a disappointing situation all around with no...

Hear me out, it's long but worth it. So this was the second time my wife and I have been here. The first time things weren't much better, but at least they tried to make it right. We sat down, ordered appetizers and a beer. Time went by and we ordered our entrees, but still no beer. We had waters on the table, so no big deal... expect it took 15 minutes to get a refill on water, after I had asked for it. We recieved our entrees and began to eat, but still no beer. 30 minutes later, a manager (Bill) came to our table and explained that the bar was having a tap issue and couldn't get the beer to rise. I understand things happen, but I can't fathom how it would take 30 minutes to inform me of the issue. I would have gladly ordered a different beverage, and everything would've been fine. Bill asked if he could get me another drink, or if I would prefer they took the original beer off my ticket (after we already had gotten our ticket). I informed him that it took 30+ minutes for someone to come talk to me about it, and that it took 15 minutes for a water refill. He said "I'm sorry it took so long, could I get you another water", and that was the end of it. On to the food... mediocre is complement. When my food came out, it looked like a pile of microwaved shrimp. Unfortunately it also tasted just like a pile of microwaved shrimp. My wife's orange chicken and fried rice was good though. The waiter was friendly, as was the one from our first visit (where the food was just as bad) but I feel that they are all limited by a less than sufficient management team. I'd recommend buying a frozen P.F. Changs meal from the grocery store and cooking it yourself. I assure you that the quality of the food will be 100x better. Maybe the third time is a charm? But we won't be going back to find out. Hire a better management staff, that will actually assist...

P.F. Chang has long been a guilty pleasure, and I have dined with them in many locations across the US. They are the rare exception to my rule against chain eateries, but, sometimes those chains get it right. And P.F. Chang is one of those few. So when I found myself recently in Lubbock and pondering where to eat lunch, I simply could not get excited about anything other than Chang’s, which I can’t get in Amarillo. Heck, we even saw fit to send their downscale Pei Wei packing a few years ago. But I digress. I arrived not long after the 11am opening when there were only a handful of people there, and took my place at the bar where I could have not only a great view, but also easier access to waitstaff should I need anything. Dining alone makes sitting at the bar a great option. I started with a Lagunitas IPA, a very good old friend from the craft beer community. I followed with the Chili Garlic Green Beans as my app. These have long been a fave, and they did not disappoint. There’s just enough heat to activate the sinuses, always a desired state if you like heat. They were cooked to perfection. For my main I went with the Ma Po Tofu, which features crispy tofu, sweet-spicy red chili sauce, and steamed broccoli. Once again, it was spot on and absolutely perfect, as it should be regardless of whether you’re a chain. And at 490 calories for the main and 260 calories for the app, this was a bargain as far as diets are concerned. Never mind that I couldn’t eat but half of it, and toted the rest home for dinner. It was all good, and I re-created the green beans at home later in the week, a pleasant reminder of another excellent meal at a most excellent restaurant.

Food was very delicious and was served in perfect portions. I ordered the Crunchy Honey Chicken with Fried Rice (see photo). We got lettuce wraps for an appetizer as the waitress recommended and ended the meal with a apple pie dessert. Unfortunately this is where the good ends. Upon entering the restaurant we were seated without menus and told to scan a QR code to order. After telling them 2 times that we didn't feel comfortable scaning a code they found a single menu for use to share with the table. While ordering I noticed the extremely dirty wall at our table. There was food and drink residue on the wall. This was at 4:30pm so I have to assume that it's been dirty all day. I also couldn't help but notice the dust and dirt all over the decor in the restaurant. For the price of the meal I would expect the restaurant to notice these cleaning details. I'm still confused why a menu isn't automatically offered (which can be reused) but a disposable chopstick set is (which is obviously single use). At the end of the meal we were not asked about P. F. Chang's loyalty program and the waitress did not want to give us credit. She eventually had the manager apply the credit (still not on my account but will update once it is.) There are alot of restaurants in Lubbock, don't go out of your way to visit this one. Good food, but there are plenty of better option.

I believe that this may be the second time I have eaten at this PF Changs in Lubbock. The first time, I felt that this restaurant definitely up heals the sort of quality that you would find in a city like Dallas or Houston. Judging by the second time that we have gone, this PF Changs has not faltered in its delivery of great food, great customer service and at a reasonable price. With two alcoholic drinks drinks, an appetizer, a main entre for each me and my fiancé and a desert, our total came out to be only $90 between two people which is much better than most fine dine restaurants. We had the pan fried dumplings to start. For our main course, we chose the pepper steak and sesame chicken with fried rice and signature lo mein. With that we had the midnight ritual cocktail and a glass of 19 crimes wine. To finish we ate the banana spring rolls. The food still upheld that good fine dine quality that we look for whenever we go to a place like double nickel or las brisas. The staff was very attentive and friendly and our waiter was very accommodating. If you haven’t eaten at PF Changs, I strongly recommend it. You will have enough food with good service without feeling like you’ll break the bank.
