Good Taste — Restaurant in Lynchburg

I've been eating at this place pretty regularly since August and I think the food there is great. Some of these older Google reviews from years ago made me hesitant about going even though I live just down the road but I spoke to some of the employees and they've been under new management there for about the last year and a half and it's apparently much better now so many of the older complaints are probably not accurate anymore. None of the drivers I've met have ever been rude to me and they usually get here a few minutes faster than they say it will take although I do live pretty close so that could be part of it.

They have a bunch of $5.99 dinner specials on the back of their menu which are very filling. I mostly get the sesame chicken or General Tso's which are both delicious. The cream cheese wontons are good too. Can't weigh in on the Hibachi menu yet because I usually go to Osaka's for that but I do like that they at least offer Japanese food because most places only offer that or Chinese and this place can make me both plus deliver it.

I've tried ordering over the phone but sometimes I guess it's loud in there or they have trouble with my accent and they don't hear me right so now I just order online to avoid having to repeat myself over and over again. Definitely a place worth checking out just for the sheer size of their menu. They have lunch specials too if you want to save a little money while...

As far as Chinese delivery goes, it's just what you'd expect. I've been looking for a place like I use to order from in Wilmington NC. Good Taste was exactly what I was looking for: somewhere I can have great sweet and sour chicken delivered to my home when I'm too drunk to drive. Thank you Good Taste, you're basically my DD for when I get the munchies! I don't quite see where all the hate is coming from on all these other comments. It's a Chinese restaurant people! Poor service and weird food is part of the experience! That wasn't even sarcasm. I had it last night and again today (this time I'm sober). One person on here complained and said "I didn't even know you could screw up dumplings"... you sir, have obviously never been to Cracker Barrel... or anywhere else that sells dumplings. Look, I can't speak for their entire menu, but my experiences have been nothing but good. And sure, it may not be as good as Jade Palace but it's also a third of the price and they deliver. Good Taste has been a vital part of my life for as long as I have known about them, and that's quite a long time. The tastiest, hot hot hot (temperature-wise), generously portioned, sensibly priced food is what they're all about. Family owned. I feel so welcome when I walk in the door......with friendly waves and smiles (behind their masks) from the chefs in the kitchen and from the lovely young sisters up front. The safest no-touch environment with ingenious isolation partitions between staff and customers. I challenge any lover of Chinese/Japanese to-go food to find any better in Lynchburg. To die for: beef or chicken curry, sesame chicken, and my current staple: Kung Pao chicken. The egg rolls are perfect. Even the packets of hot mustard are wonderful and they outsource those. I can only share one issue on the darker side: I would get every dinner from Good Taste if it wouldn't embarrass my family. My endorsement is from the heart. Please, seek out Good Taste on Timberlake Road (next to West Sie Deli....which would be a whole different chapter of good news!) Peace and...
