Food Review: Chicken and The Pig – Lynnfield Market Street 📍 525 Market St, Lynnfield, MA 01940
Chicken and The Pig is a solid spot for comfort food, offering a great selection of beer and some seriously good eats. Whether you're craving a fried chicken sandwich, a hot dog, or some crispy tenders, this place delivers.
What We Ordered: Nashville Hot Chicken (9/10) 🔥🐔 House-made apple slaw, homemade spicy pickles, and their Nashville Hot sauce—this sandwich was a winner. It had just the right amount of heat, perfectly balanced with the slaw and pickles. If you’re into spicy but don’t want to set your mouth on fire, this is for you.
The House Dog (8/10) 🌭🥓 A quarter-pound hot dog topped with chopped bacon, grilled onions, and a spicy brew-style pub mustard. The bacon and onions added a smoky, savory depth that made this a standout choice for hot dog lovers. Simple, classic, and well-executed.
Buffalo Chicken Tender Basket with Fries (9/10) 🍗🍟 As a buffalo chicken girl, I have high standards—and this one passed with flying colors. Packed with flavor, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with fries, these tenders didn’t disappoint. They don’t mess around with their chicken here!
Special Chicken Pesto (9/10) 🌿🧀 A crispy (or grilled) chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and house-made pesto (nut-free). The pesto was flavorful without overpowering the other ingredients, and the mozzarella added the perfect creaminess. They NEED to make this a permanent menu item.
Chicken Three Way (8/10) 🍔🍗 Crispy chicken topped with James River BBQ sauce, mayo, and American cheese, served on a grilled brioche bun. A solid sandwich with a smoky-sweet BBQ kick, though it didn’t quite beat the pesto chicken for me.
Cookie Dough Sundae 🍪🍦 No better way to finish off a meal than with their cookie dough sundae. Sweet, indulgent, and just what you need after all that savory goodness.
Overall Ratings: Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (9/10) – They know their way around fried chicken and hot dogs. Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐ (5/10) – Cute but nothing fancy; it’s more about the food than the vibes. Affordability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (9/10) – In 2025, finding a great sandwich for under $15 is a win. Most of these ranged from $11-$13, which is a great deal for the quality. Final Thoughts: Lynnfield’s hometown spot didn’t let me down! Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with a beer, Chicken and The Pig is a great go-to for comfort...
Read morei’ve been going to this location pretty much since it’s been open. so far it’s the best chicken i’ve tried on the north shore and im so happy its here!!
i always come in and get the same thing, kids chicken strips tossed in buffalo. for the first time since coming here, i was charged 1.50 for tossing them in buffalo, .50 for bleu cheese, and an extra 2.50 for truffle fries (i asked if i could have no fries or pickles instead and she just said my only option was to upgrade the fries.) at no point did the staff explain to me that there would be all these upcharges.
if i had known before paying, i would have purchased the normal chicken strip basket for 12.50. That way i’d be getting more chicken and it would still literally cost the exact same as what i got, minus the truffle fries. It’s just ridiculous, not necessarily the upcharges but that combined with how it wasnt even explained to me. Sigh. What a waste of money.
the 3pieces of chicken i got was delicious as always, but not worth 12.50. the truffle fries were nothing special, and a small portion. i ended up throwing them away after a...
Read moreVisited this restaurant for the first time last Sunday with 0 expectations and we were pleasantly surprised. My husband had the Vermont sandwich, which was “amazing” and I had the ceasar salad with fried chicken, we shared an order of waffle fries and had a cider. The fried chicken is very good is thin and the breading is crispy and doesn’t fall off . The sandwich was well proportioned chicken to breading, just like a sandwich should be. We had lunch at Legal C bar the day before and my husband had a sandwich that although delicious it was 70% bread and felt super bloated afterwards. My salad was fresh and had homemade crispy croutons, delicious! The fries were hot and very crispy just like fries should be. If you are a healthy eater but have the cravings for GOOD fries one day, this is the place! The service is friendly and very helpful. Please come visit, you won’t be...
