Mane & Mani — Local services in Lynnfield

Very disappointed with the hair and makeup I had done here. The formal hair took an hour and began coming apart shortly after it was finished, when I got home my husband said there were a bunch of strands of hair sticking up/out of the braids on the sides and back of my head, we had to bobby pin the brains down and all of the strands and apply a ton of hairspray. The curls didn’t last for more than two hours.

The makeup was equally disappointing, it took an hour and when it was done it looked like I didn’t even have makeup on. I had to ask her to add more here and there, more, more, more, and then I had to give up and leave or I would have been late for my event. When I arrived to the event and went to the restroom, I noticed the makeup under my eyes had come off and my dark circles were visible, that was so frustrating as I didn’t bring concealer nor did I even touch my eyes.

The results of both hair and makeup were not worth the price and I won’t visit again for those services. The two women who did the services were friendly, but again, the quality of the services was not...

I have been to Mane & Mani a few times and I have to say the hair stylists (Gina & Jamie) I’ve had, have been great! However, the customer service / front desk regarding pricing and also just curdiousness has some room for improvement. A few times when I just got a “style” I have been told different prices $25 -$30 and today the woman at desk Erin (I believe) couldn’t of been bothered. I had a question about appointment availability and pricing (bc it has varied for me in the past) I just wanted to be prepared. I felt like when I walked in the door I was being judged (like I didn’t belong there) and when I also asked about another location for availability she seemed smugged and spoke down to me and acted like I was inconveniencing her... I was very disappointed in this situation as prior it’s been fine. After I made the appointment I called to cancel it. I hope this feedback can be helpful for improvements regarding customer service. I’d feel bad that stylists could suffer because of lacking front desk customer service...

I had a wonderful experience at Mane & Mani. I was immediately greeted and offered a beverage when I arrived. I had booked a blow out with Jamie S. She was on time and got my appointment started right away. She took the time to ask me about my hair, and what I wanted the end result to look like. We reviewed the pictures I brought with me and she discussed the styling process she was going to follow before we got started, which I appreciated as I am very particular about my hair. I absolutely loved the end result. Jamie has been working with hair for over 10 years, and you can tell she knows what she is doing. I have long, curly, thick hair, which is very difficult to style by most stylists. But not Jamie - she is a professional, along with being very personable. At the end of the appointment she made sure to review with me what to do (i.e. let the curls fall naturally and not run my fingers through the curls). She made sure I was happy before I left for the day. ...
