He Brews Coffee: A Faith-Based Hidden Gem for Coffee Lovers

If you’re ever in need of a cozy, welcoming spot to grab a cup of coffee, catch up with friends, or just relax, He Brews is the place to go. It’s a warm, inviting space where you can not only sip on great coffee but also experience a sense of community and peace. As a 22-year-old guy who’s always on the lookout for good spots to unwind or get some work done, I can confidently say that He Brews checks all the right boxes.

First Impression: The first time I walked into He Brews, I felt welcome. The staff at He Brews are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Everyone seems genuinely interested in making sure you have a good experience. It’s refreshing to walk into a coffee shop where you’re not just another customer, but where you feel like you’re a part of the community.

The Coffee: As for the coffee, He Brews doesn’t disappoint. The coffee here is fantastic, and you can really tell that the baristas know their stuff. I like to mix things up, and i have yet to be dissapointed. They seem to do everything really well.

For those who aren’t huge coffee drinkers, there are plenty of non-coffee options too. The teas here are excellent, and sometimes I mix it up and try their customizable Red Bull energy drinks with their own homemade syrups!!

If you’re hungry, He Brews also has a small selection of pastries to accompany your drink. The banana bread is a personal favorite of mine.

A Christian-Based Coffee Shop: What really sets He Brews apart from other coffee shops, though, is its foundation in Christian values. The atmosphere reflects that in subtle but meaningful ways. The shop has a prayer wall where you add your prayer requests and know that there are always fellow believers encouraging you in prayer. There are also inspiring Bible verses on the prayer wall which tend to help me see Christ and His love in our community.

At first, I wasn’t sure how the Christian aspect of the place would come across. But I have to say, I’m really impressed. The way they incorporate their faith feels genuine, not super showy or pushy. It’s clear that the goal is simply to provide a space where people can enjoy great coffee, relax, and experience a sense of community—whether you’re religious or not.

Perfect for Study, or Work: If you’re a college student or someone who needs a spot to work, He Brews is a great choice. The environment is perfect for studying or getting work done. The Wi-Fi is solid, and there are plenty of tables with space to spread out your laptop or notebooks. Plus, the background noise is just the right level, not so loud that you can’t focus.

A Place That Feels Like Home: Overall, I’d say He Brews is one of, if not my favorite spots in town. It’s the perfect blend of great coffee, welcoming atmosphere, and sense of community that i have yet to find anywhere else. Whether you're popping in for a quick caffeine fix, sitting down to work, or spending time with friends, this place never disappoints. The Christian foundation adds a special touch, and it’s clear that the owners and staff are passionate about creating a space where people can connect with each other and with God.

As a 22-year-old, I really appreciate places like He Brews that feel more personal than the average chain coffee shop. It’s a place that values relationships and community, and that makes it stand out in a world where so many places feel impersonal. If you’re looking for a coffee shop that offers more than just a good cup of coffee, I highly recommend checking out He Brews. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast, a student in need of a quiet place to work, or someone just looking for a welcoming environment to relax, He Brews has...

Hurts to write this review since I literally live in the Bldg. I really badly wanted to like this place and even gave them business every other day or so.

All the low reviews about the owner sitting in a booth starting at you are correct. It's extremely rude and uncomfortable.

The pricing is literally absurd price gouging. Most expensive I've had, including Seattle.

Drip coffee with almond milk and sweetener is $8. Cold brew almost $10. Get food and coffee, and you'll pay $30.

Icing on the cake is the consistency of service is non-existent. I will order the same thing and depending on who's working it's made completely different every time. Train your new staff please.

Final straw was ordering a cold brew and having the mixture be off to the point where the drink had over 1k mg of caffiene, and I was shaking for hours. I know this because I drink an absurd amount of caffiene, and it barely has an effect. Had this same drink many times, and this was a scary experience.

I will sadly forfeit my convenience of living right above this place and drive to Starbucks for less money and way better quality and consistency.

That being said, there are some great baristas there who we love. Super sweet...just can't keep supporting this place out of principal.

See owners response below. Responding to owner here.

I just moved here from Chicago 6 months ago and don't have a single friend or relative here.

Are you insinuating some kind of collusion? What kind of response is that to my concerns?

Ask if I'm related to...

He Brews Coffee is a cozy spot that makes for a pleasant coffee break, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me. While nothing about my visit was over-the-top extraordinary, the welcoming atmosphere and overall experience make it worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Ambiance: 5/5 The café has a warm, inviting vibe that makes it a great place to relax or catch up with a friend. It feels comfortable and thoughtfully designed, giving it that “neighborhood coffee shop” charm.

Authenticity: 4/5 They offer a nice variety of drinks, including their matcha options, which stood out for their flavor. It’s clear they put care into their beverages, though I’d love to see a bit more uniqueness or variety on the menu to really set them apart.

Flavor: 4/5 The matcha latte I tried had a nice flavor profile, though it leaned a bit sweeter than I prefer. That said, it was still enjoyable and well-made, with a smooth consistency.

Service: 4/5 The service was polite and straightforward. Nothing exceptional, but also nothing lacking—a friendly, normal interaction that got the job done without delay.

Cost: 4/5 Pricing is standard for a specialty coffee shop and feels fair for the quality.

Final Verdict: He Brews Coffee is a comfortable, welcoming café with good drinks and friendly service. While my matcha was a touch sweet, the flavor was enjoyable, and the inviting atmosphere makes this a spot I’d...
