Firstly, I had no idea that nordstrom did commissions. I wondered why they were all so pushy about who helped who and getting invited to be their client via app several times. The experience was awkward. I do like that I am able to get samples, but the experience is just weird.
I'd like to call out the super obnoxious woman with blonde hair that was floating there today that was apparently told to go work tacoma this weekend. She was more interested in talking to her coworkers extremely loud over helping me out. I was searching for a firming eye cream. She was happy to help me in the moment I asked for help. She tried to sell me a $120 eye cream. When I told her that was out of my budget she just pointed over to another section clear on the other side and I basically felt shoo'd over there by myself. Made me feel like I was less than a person due to my money or apparent lack there of in her opinion.
She then went to go back to talking with her co workers. This is how I figured out they get commissions . I thought it was weird and looked it up when i left. Several sources say nordstrom employees get a base pay+ % of sales for comission. I figure she determined that the commission from my $60 sale was not worth her time. Super rude and embarrassing for her tbh.
Then before this I was trying to purchase an eye liner from the charlotte counter. A worker helped me try to find it since I could only find it in a bundle. We found it and she took the product out of the inventory and asked me if I was ready to check out. I told her no and that there were a few other products in the beauty section I was looking at before I was ready. She then refused to hand the product over and told me when I was ready to check out to let her know. She then put it on an empty space next to the charlotte counter register and disengaged with me. I was offended but I figured that this was a nordstrom policy and nothing personal. I tried to brush it off. Fast forward to checking out I went back to the same counter and no one was there and the eye liner I picked out was gone as if she put back like she assumed i didnt really want to pay for it. A different worker noticed I was standing there confused and helped me out. I asked her directly about if not letting customers hold onto product was a nordstrom policy and explained what happened. She was so confused. She said sometimes if a person needs to shop the other departments they will hold onto the beauty stuff in case someone decides they don't want it anymore or to prevent it from accidently being misplaced by shoppers. That sounds super reasonable considering how small makeup can be and can get lost in other merch. However, I thought I made it clear I was staying in the beauty department. So basically I feel like I was profiled as a thief đ and they lady wouldn't give me the item I was trying to buy. Jokes on her I guess because I bought the item I said I wanted to buy with a different person. I am not a thief. I may walk around and swatch and have fun in the department, but I am no thief. I just love makeup and find walking through counters to be therapeutic. Like so sorry dude. Really bad experience. Won't be shopping there again.
5 stars for Hannah though. She was the only one really trying to help me out with what I was looking for. So thank you for that. If I were to go back it would only be to see her. If I had known prior to checking out that there was commissions I would of found her and did the purchase...
Read moreMaerut might have mispelled his name gave me very attentive service for my Ecco shoes. Then his co-worker Fem interrupted and asked him something that I could not make out but later found out she did that so he could help her customer before me with a ticket. At first I had no problem with it until the ladies seemed to give me the Seattle I didn't see you were here before me and after getting service asked more questions. By this time I was tired of waiting, and said you know I was here before you.
Things then got silent for the customers and maybe they didn't know but Fem the rude Nordstrom employee did and said in a condescending way that "Ladies First". Well that made me upset and I said I have my wife here sitting down and first is first, she then had the gall to say something else that was annoying and I warned her if she kept talking she would be on YouTube. Being a person who makes a living on the platform I like to warn people before exposing their rude behavior. She was in aww and the customers associate said something in Spanish to her friend and I said you could have just apologized. Fem kept talking and I took my picture. She said please don't film me and I said this is a public place. The customers associate began to talk and say thatâs not legal in Washington. I asked her if she was a lawyer and at first she actually said Yes.
I really wanted to explain 18 USC Section 795 but I donât like to disclose or have the time to teach for free I get paid to consultant. I think Fem needs to be trained again in customer service and this Nordstrom use to be my go to place and have been a customer at the store since they had their old return policy when we like to buy Facconnable. Where is it in the policy that an employee will interrupt another employee to help their customer first. We know things happen but giving her the benefit of the doubt where is it in the policy at Nordstrom the employee will be rude and go back and forth with a customer even after they paid for their shoes. The women who cut me told Fem after I told her she would be getting a note to her boss and a bad review that donât worry they will say different, but of course they would because you got served first and benefited.
What type of privilege do you think you have, I know I might look like a Love locâd young Reggae star lol, but you are no better than me and should have waited your turn, or at least when I complained after the excessive questions about will you get a text or a call blah blah said thank you for. Everybody has their breaking point and now I have to write this long complaint sounding like one of Shakespeareâs soliloquyâs to some I am sure. I complained to Fred who said he was the manager on site at the time but I wanted to make a written complaint. Think Fem could also use some cultural appropriation and implicit...
Read moreNordstroms is not the store I remember... after 25 years of being a loyal customer. Went into RETURNS /Alterations on Sunday Mothers Day. ....Not the same level of service I am used to...It was apparent no one was minding the front counter. After standing there for several minutes without being acknowledged by either of the 2 young men at the front counters who seemed preoccupied, I finally said, 'Can you please call Alterations?' Instead of taking me into the main waiting room, I was dumped into a changing room by another young preoccupied person who acted liked he had better things to do, wearing a HOWARD sweatshirt he barely looked at me (We Seniors get this attitude from youngsters frequently), & deposited in the dressing room WITHOUT notifying anyone in Alterations.. I assumed he did this rather than escorting me to the front waiting room in Alterations (where you normally wait) that he had already alerted Alterations so I happily waited in the dressing room to be fitted into my new NYDJ Linen shorts. Nothing happened...x 15 minutes + so finally I opened the dressing room door & peeked out...finally I walked up to Alterations & asked the lady there if she knew I was even there in that dressing room. NOPE.. NADA.. She profusely apologized saying how many things slip thru the cracks there & all the miscommunication/misunderstandings which had occurred recently in this department....I told her I had never been led down a hallway & dropped off in a dressing room like that...highly unusual. Had they changed the standard policy...because I had never had a problem here before. She said I should say something to someone that had a higher pay grade than her& when leaving.I did.... Surprisingly rather than offering an apology for leaving me sit unattended in the dressing room so long, the young man with a HOWARD sweatshirt became defensive pointing the finger at Alterations. 'I called them!' he said. Then, they (meaning the other kids at the Returns desk)all piled on! I got a major attitude from 4 people at the Returns counter. I suggested that next time they might ASK the customer if they were aware of the new procedure.....drop customer & neglect to check on them. Then.....a rather tall red headed kid inserted himself into the conversation further defending the HOWARD kid. Then he did a 'That's my 'Bro' palm slide handshake with the HOWARD kid as if to say 'I got your back Bro'. and abruptly walked away.. How disrespectful & insulting to me. I finally received an apology from a polite young lady with black glasses who stepped forward to finish my transaction. My 92 year old mother once said to me, "This is not the world I grew up in." She was correct. I guess the Manager Mariana was gone that day & no supervisors were...
