A friend suggested we try this place. It was not very busy, maybe three other small tables when we arrived. We were greeted and sat immediately but then it took a while to get someone to take out order despite three employees hanging out at the computer. Apparently there was another table that didnt seem to get much attention nearby. Once they did take the order the service was great! My samosa was ICE cold in center but just a small area and it was good so I didnt say anything. The food was really yummy and it came quickly. I think it took about the same amount of time for someone to take the order after we sat down as it did to be served the appetizer and entree. Here is where I was really annoyed, I was presented with a bill and paid by CC as most do these days. The card was showing when I placed it in the folder. The bill now charged me 3% fee for using the credit card. I was NEVER given the CHOICE until my card was charged. This appears to be an illegal practice as NO notice was given UNTIL my card was already charged.as its on the credit card part and NOT the check. The information needs to be on the invoice of check when its presented for payment. There was no note or indication on the first check nor on there door as you enter the restaurant. I was also not given the choice when the server picked up the bill with the card in plain sight. I really dislike places that do this without informing me of my options. This is considered a scam in my opinion as there was no notification. I am not the only one that mentioned the 3% surcharge in the reviews either. I tried to call today but no owner or manager was there today to help me. Not sure if I will go back because of the way this was presented. This combined with the long delay to initially take the order while we saw the three standing there might be a reason not to return. Sad, because the food was good.
Updated...lost another star for service. After calling and asking my service charge be returned they took the stand that they have this notification on the MENU. It needs to be in the check when presented. They said that if I didnt want to pay the surcharge they could have canceled the charge. Really?? BAD...
Read moreI can’t believe it’s taken us so long to find this gem! We love Indian food, and have our favorite restaurants. Moonsun India Grill is better than the rest. Conveniently located in that new mixed use property by Home Depot and across from Costco in Lynnwood, it unfortunately is not immediately visible to passers by due to an urgent care building in front of it. But find it, and go there. The menu is extensive and well thought out. The facility is on the small side, but attractive and elegantly appointed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our server, Grish (at least I think that was his name…) and his coworker steered us towards the Parmesan naan, which was some of the best naan we’ve ever tasted. After a shared starter of Vegetable Pakora (the green and red sauces were made in-house and delicious!), my husband ordered Chicken Vindaloo, and I ordered Murg Bahar. The chicken in both dishes was moist and tender, and absolutely delicious. I keep saying delicious, and am trying to come up with some synonyms. Incredible, amazing, fantastic. We enjoyed a cup of hot masala chai tea each, not too sweet- perfect, really. And with Grish’s gentle encouragement, we shared a mango pistachio ice cream (made by the owner) for desert. I’ll attach some pictures, but please, please, if you love Indian food, go to Moonsun India Grill. I’m already planning to take some girlfriends there, my husband and I can’t wait to go back ourselves. PS One thing to note, as mentioned by another reviewer, there is a 3% service charge to pay by credit card. If you’d like to avoid that, bring your debit...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to trying this new Indian restaurant in our neighborhood and with the prospects of not driving to Redmond/ Bellevue for decent flavors since they had the coming soon sign up and in short summary we came out disappointed with our food. Long summary: Service and ambience is really good but the star of a restaurant needs to be the food and that can may be classified as typical dhaba food at best, which isn't a bad thing when it's a TO GO place with reasonable prices but when you are charging fine dining prices we expect fine dining worthy food.
If food and the gravies are more refined then entrée prices can be justified but the prices of bread here are still exorbitant even if you get the best possible Indian breads in entire US. $12 for laccha parantha should tell you something.
We ordered Daal Makhani: More chana daal in very bite than urad daal and tastes only of tomatoes. Palak Paneer: Very plain and nothing special. Kashmiri Kofta: Super dense veggie koftas when it says on their menu cheese dumplings with paneer no where to be found and sauce that wasn't strained. (Common trait of dhaba food) Gobi Manchurian: Gobi was crispy but too vinegary. Chicken Tikka Masala: My girlfriend said this was probably the best tasting dish out of...
