Hands down the best sandwiches in the area, probably all of Washington, and definetly one of my favorite sandwiches I have ever had.
I am always super excited whenever I am in the area because we usually stop by here to get some delicious bahn mi sandwiches! I've been coming here since I was a little kid! Even back then from what I remember, Yeh Yeh's has always been the best!
My go-to is their grilled pork bahn mi, and sometimes I get some fries or pot stickers on the side. The sandwich, which is the star, is always very consistent and taste very authetic. The best part about it is actually the bread! The bread is just so light and fluffy, and still has a very nice crispy crust. Most sandwiches I get, the bread is kind if hard to bite into, but the bread here is just super lusciously perfect. The pork is always super tasty and tender, and I love how fresh all the vegetables and ingredients are. The pickled daikon is super flavorful as well, and delivers a nice crunch. Overall an outstanding sanwich as you got so many textures and flavors all in one bite that all work together to create a dreamy sensation.
The appetizers on the other hand are also amazing! Personally, I wouldn't really expect a place like this to have good appetizers, especiallly things like french fries, however the fries are fantastic in my opinion. I love the saltiness level on the fries, and overall they are pretty solid. Same goes with the potstickers, they are pretty solid, and on the outside it is crispy and on the inside you get some delicious pork filling!
Ther service is also very good too. They are always super friendly, and also very quick! I still really appreciate how consistent and good this place has been ever since I was a little kid, and I can't wait until the next time I get some of my...
Read moreMy husband and I used to frequent when we lived in the area. We loved the prices and the food. They always could have done a little better with the cleanliness of the shop but it was easy to overlook with the deliciousness of the food. We were over in the area and stopped by for some grub. Unfortunately it seems like they need to do some work cleaning up the lobby, not a clean table in the house. I found a spray cleaners and wiped down our table. We got our food and we were looking for condiments none to be found kind odd for a pho place not to have Sriracha or hot oil available or ketchup for fries. As my husband was an eating he found a piece of sharp plastic in his sandwich the size of quarter. We cleaned the piece off as it had been in my husbands mouth. My husband wasn’t too upset but I wanted them to know in case it broke off something else that might have been still around in the kitchen and could get in others food. I brought it up and they offered to remake the food but it wasn’t that huge of a deal. They even offered us free egg rolls so nice!! My problem is when I heard staff talking about it and saying how weird it was that it was a clean piece of plastic…didn’t even have sauce on it. My dudes we are not in the habit of bringing plastic into restaurants to put in our own food 😅😅😅😅😅😅 I would recommend cleaning up your space, there’s boxes over flowing from the stock room and it’s pretty messy. That’s how people get...
Read moreI've been going here for 12+ years. It has changed a lot. You no longer have access to a Sriracha Bottle, Red Chili Oil, or a bottle of Hoisen. You get small portion cups that they reluctantly hand out.
When I ordered my Pho, I politely asked for Hoisen and Red Chili Oil since I had to ask last time (no biggie). Before I could even say, "Red-" the girl with the cap rudely interrupted me and said, "Yeah, it comes with all of that in the broth." (It doesn't) and dismissed me. Very poor customer service. I can handle quiet, but not straight up snotty.
They are very stingy with their sauces and do not want to give it out to their customers. I asked for Red Chili once more (they gave it to me last time about a month ago), and the other girl looks at me so confused, and they gave me another small Sriracha. Whatever. Moving on.
When I tried my Pho, it tasted bad. The broth was super bland, and a chunk of the meat tasted really bad. Not the Yeye's I remember at all. 10 years ago this place was soo good and you had access to whatever sauces and seasonings you desired. They also seemed nicer back then?
The place is generally dirty (which I don't even wanna think about how it looks when cooks handle the meat etc.).
All in all, sadly, I am gonna stop going here. It just isn't worth it for the price, food quality, cleanliness, and rude girls at the front.
I hope...
