We chose this restaurant because it was on our way home from the airport. It looks unassuming from outside but once we walked through the doors it was buzzing with activity. The customer base is mixed with all types of people who seemed to be enjoying their brunch.
We were seated immediately and the wait staff promptly arrived to take our drink order. For food, we ordered the chilaquiles and also an order of shakshuka. Both items arrived remarkably fast considering how many patrons they had.
The chilaquiles were outstanding. It was made with fresh house-made tortilla chips, house made guac and pico as well as sunny side up eggs. The pico de gallo was super bright tasting and the guacamole was creamy and perfectly balanced. The heat level was spot on for brunch service. The portion was almost enough for two. It was simply outstanding.
My wife chose the shakshuka. The flavor in this was sublime. The tomatoes tasted fresh and the toast and two poached eggs reminded you it was for brunch. The spice level was perfect for the dish but there should be a heat warning for the uninitiated. The heat can pack a punch if you aren't used to it. I thought the dish was absolutely perfect. The portion was substantial for one. The only recommendation I would give would be to substitute the toast points for a nice large injera, a north African flatbread. That would have been perfect for me.
The brunch drink list was typical and included items like bloody Mary's and mimosas. Since we were just off a long flight and still had a long drive we didn't have a chance to try those. Next time for sure. As far as cost, it was a bit higher than some other brunch stops, but only by a bit. The cost is justified by the incredibly fresh ingredients used and the innovative cuisine offered.
It is VERY rare that I give a 5 star rating and this place gets that 5 from me for exceptional fresh house-made cuisine at the given price point and a lively atmosphere. It was...
Read moreI am giving you 4 stars for the quality of your products. You have exactly what we have been looking for as in REAL coffee, espresso, and foods. Bravo! I am not sure who came up with such a beautiful layout but you did a phenomenal job in that area.
I would have give you a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the overwhelming and overbearing Customer service you have trained. Although, everyone has been kind and it started off very good, My husband has been here several times because he loves your coffee quality, and each time has had to leave early because he’s told your staff to please leave him to concentrate and if he needs something he will let them know. Each time the same person says “ok” and leaves him alone for 5 minutes then returns to ask him again if he needs anything. The cafe has mostly been empty because people just come to pick up and leave. He has given the cafe many chances but always is forced to leave to sit at Starbucks so he can finish his work. He is sad because he would love to stay at your cafe, but your staff isn’t knowledgeable on respecting people’s space. One time, my husband was told to sit in a corner in case more customers came, when the cafe was empty, no one came to sit and he was appalled by how he was treated.
Also, why would you open a cafe at 11am when you serve breakfast?
Once again, we love your cafe and quality of coffee and food, plus the beautiful interior structure, however, please work on your customer service and probably more people will come. We hope to see you stay as long as possible because we love your cafe. My husband is a marketing director and expert and I’ve even asked him to offer you some advice on how to bring in more traffic, but his irritation has prevented him to reach out to you. May you take this as a positive critique to grow and expand. We appreciate you in our community and only want the best.
Thank...
Read moreFirst time going to MilkStop*
It was myself, my fiancé and my infant child of about 2 months. We arrived and were greeted accordingly, we were seated close to the entrance, we also happened to say hi to another small family enjoying their evening at MilkStop, helping ease the anxiety of having a new born of our own at the dinner table of a crowded restaurant. We met Tyler, great kid, we meet a women unfortunately we forget her name, great attitude and smile! We ordered a beer for myself and later a cocktail for my fiancé , the cocktail took a long time to be served. We later ordered the Nachos, great nachos! The salsa tasted fresh, the chicken was moist and seemed fresh, the white queso sauce seemed okay definitely did not taste made in house, the chips taste fresh but somewhat stale as if their drying method in the kitchen for fried food wasn’t truly capable of producing crispy flaky chips. The granulated Spanish cheese was delightful as well. The portion was fair but the topping for the cheese and tomato salsa was lacking to say the least. Lastly we enjoyed the atmosphere, it felt as if your grandma decided to open up shop in the corner but she also had a taste for interior design. Overall great experience, will be back to try your sea food...
