Sweet Spot — Restaurant in Mackinaw Township

Owner’s response explains the reason behind the employee’s behavior. Please understand respect goes both ways and there are people like me who do not tolerate rudeness. I came to your shop happily, asked for a spoon politely, put your rude employee in her place rightfully, and left your shop with a bad taste.

Ice cream is great - one of their employees is HORRIBLE. Went to get an ice cream, the first employee with glasses was kind and helpful. When she made my ice cream ready, she passed it to this rude lady and asked me to pay at the register. During transaction, I asked her if I could please get another spoon and she said “ does it look like I have spoons here?” with moving her hands around. I looked at her and she then proceeded to tell me “ did you get offended by the way I talked to you?”. I put her in her place by responding back that she wasn’t even able to answer back (probably not much capacity over there). This happened on September 13th around 2 pm. She looked heavier than the girl with glasses. She was on her phone the whole time so I don’t know if that’s why she was pissed off for something but I hope the owner protects their business by not having incapable people working for him their business. We stopped in Mackinaw on the way home on Labor Day. We saw this shop and the freeze dried candy sign outside drew us in. We saw the marketing for $7 and some change for the freeze dried candy no matter the kind. It’s more than what we usually pay but thought we would like the snacks for the rest of the ride home. My wife got the sour skittles and I got the nerds clusters. The sour skittles were normal and to be expected quality. However my nerd clusters were hardly freeze dried. Some weren’t even puffed or like they attempted to freeze dry it. The ones that were partially done were terrible. They were so sticky and hard to eat and swallow. There were only a few of any quality. I’d say 60-70% of the bag was not to quality. I would definitely not recommend getting these again unless they fix the issue. I could have bought a better bag for less or even bought a bag of the clusters for less, since they weren’t even hardly freeze dried anyways. Sad I had to throw over...

This was the best ice cream we had during our family Mackinaw trip!

We stayed in Mackinaw city and cruised the downtown shopping area. This shop has a great location, right off of the ferry dock. We went in and they had so many flavors to choose from. Pricing was around $4 a scoop I believe. For this quality ice cream, that was reasonable. Also they actually made the waffle cones at the store, they have three different machines. You could totally taste the freshness and crispness of fresh cones compared to other ice cream shops.

I couldn't get over how they had so many flavors compared to the other ice cream shops we visited on our weekend trip. We would have stopped in a second time if we had more time! We ordered Mint Mackinac Island Fudge, Strawberry Cheese Cake, and these two other amazing chocolate options.

The employees had a little hard time communicating and hearing customers, which is my only negative feedback.
